Vehicle Detail
Grand ma's 1965 Riviera GS looking for new home. With grand sons being so busy I just don't have time for her. She has been my baby and a labor of love. Finished in beautiful Flame Red, this numbers matching LX code Buick Riviera Gran Sport that has won many awards over the years. Most recently took silver at BCA nationals in July 2014 at Portland Oregon. My radial tires cost me 8 points or she would have won gold. In 2009 she won best GS at the Riviera Owners Association meet in Sacramento Ca. Just missed best of show by a math calculation to a modified. May\June 2012 issue of the Review (Riviera Owners Association publication) She was featured on the cover and had a very nice article written about her. That cover is still being used for advertising to date for the club. She took 3rd at the Forest Grove concourse show in 2009. Along with many other awards. She is stored in heated garage for winter and unless by accident doesnt see the rain.. She has 94000k on the car with only 3000k since frame off restoration 10 years a go. Where she was taken down to bare metal. There was the normal rust in back window that was repaired. Trunk and floor panels were solid. Rest of the car was in pretty good condition for the age. Engine, transmission, and carbs were completely gone thru and rebuilt. By well know Old school Buick Mechanic here in Oregon. Alan Detrick, which if you have questions he said your more than welcome to call him. Email me for his and or my phone numbers. Radiator was flushed and rodded, new water pump hoses and belts. I had the original ac compressor rebuilt, new brake lines, new exhaust, she has bilstein shocks, also she has the very rare GS hub caps. Clam shells, cruise, and auto head light dimmer all work wonderfully. All glass is perfect with new windshield. Complemented by the well-appointed Black cloth Interior. Seats coverings and carpet are new. . Dash, door and rear panels are original (wood has been restored) and are in impressive condition, including the gauge lenses, trim, chrome and stainless. Courtesy lights throughout illuminate the fully appointed interior that includes a 4 way power driver’s Seat, power windows & vents, an AM/FM stereo with power antenna and a rear seat speaker,(wonder bar button also have restored wonder bar radio) locking glove box with the optional trunk release, horn upgrade (trumpets), remote mirror, tilt gran sport wheel, front seats belts with retractor, and factory A/C that blows cold, auto head light dimmer, rear window defroster and rear arm rest. Every thing in working order. I think she has every option available in 1965. ( I have tissue holder but never reinstalled) The trunk retains the original cardboard trim, matt, jack, and new tire but, still can accommodate all of the bags needed for a long road trip. The detailed exterior is also highlighted by chrome and stainless accents that follow the Riviera’s distinctive lines. Rear bumper was re chromed and stainless polished. This Gran Sport is powered by the 425 cubic inch, Super Wildcat 465, which produces 360 Horsepower and a whopping 465 ftlbs. This motor features a higher compression ratio and dual four barrel carburetors and a Positraction rear differential. The console shifted Turbine 400 transmission shifts smoothly, and the stiffer suspension along with Power Steering (w/quicker ratio), brakes, and radial whitewall tires maintain this luxury muscle cars cloud-like ride. I will store up to 30 days free of charge till you can make shipping arrangements. More pictures available upon request.
