Vehicle Detail
Great driver, 2nd owner. Continuously driven, concours winner 2000. Needs some TLC to be show condition again. Extensive upgrades and options; 5-speed transmission. Frame: frame repairs made in late 1990s: new trailing arms, T-shirt, differential mounts reinforced, front suspension gussets installed. Por-15 anti-rust treatment, Hammerite paint. Frame is in excellent shape for being 40 years old. Body: new inner-and-outer wings (fenders) fitted 2000, no rust, excellent shape. The body was last painted the correct carmine red with flat-black tail and interior replaced in 2000. Vinyl around door pulls has come unglued. Seats refoamed and recovered in 2001 with new diaphragms, small tear in passenger shoulder area. Electrical: new harness fitted 2000, relays fitted to headlights without modifying the harness. Factory radio (works). Engine: Professionally rebuilt 15,000 miles ago by CAR Components. Good Parts damper and tri-carb conversion with air box. Aluminum water pump, alloy valve cover, exhaust 6:2 header. EGR valve removed. Pertronix electronic ignition. Runs strong.Hard-top: Used, unrestored factory hard-top included with the car, new headliner in box with hard-top parts, all glass present and in good condition. Suspension: Good condition with polyurethane bushings and koni shocks, new rebuilt rear shocks just fitted. Steering rack serviced 2013 with new gaiters. Rear axels replaced with Rimmer Brothers units with Cosworth hub and bearings. Tires less than 3 years old. Options/Accessories: HVDA 5-speed Toyota transmission (2012)MiniLite alloy wheels, recent Pirelli tires. Moto Lita Steering Wheel Mohair Black top (2000) GP Tri-Carb Conversion with air-box Alloy valve cover Pertronix electronic ignition Exhaust header feeding stock exhaust Aluminum fuel tank (2007) Koni shocks (front, older). DOT-5 silicon brake and clutch fluid Fog/Driving lights Tonneau cover and soft-top boot. Optima Battery Car cover. Tool roll and spares. Passenger side 2nd bonnet release. Powder coated front calipers and rear drums. This car has been a well-maintained driver for all its life, thousands of dollars of upgrades and new patrts. You can drive this car and think about the next project: brake upgrade? Rebuild the suspension again? Some tinkering to complete to it would be a good match for a DIY kind of owner. I’ve always told people: Triumph owners need to spend one Saturday morning a month under the car with a spanner in their hands. If you don’t know what a spanner is, don’t buy this car.
