You are looking at a 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Cabriolet with 110,000 miles. The car was running one year ago and was parked because it needed a convertible top. A tarp was placed over the car so that it wouldn't be water damaged. A raccoon got in the car and made a nest by chewing up the foam interior of the car. The dash was also chewed and damaged. I put a charged battery in the car to see if it would start and the starter didn't turn over, so the raccoon must've chewed one of the ignition wires too. I'm starting this auction at the scrap value of the car with no reserve. Before the car was parked, many new parts were put on the car, including Fuel Filter, Distributor cap and Rotor, Irridium spark plugs, Oil Filter and a Mobile 1 oil change. The car had just got new P205/60R-13 tires that have zero miles on them. They still have the paper stickers as you can see in the pictures. The body is in good shape. There is minor surface rust and chipping paint, see pictures. There is a crack in the windshield but all the other glass is good. I have a box of trim pieces from the interior with additional odds & ends. If you need parts off this car, email me. If it doesn't sell at auction, I will sell them to you before I scrap the car. This car would be good for someone who needs an engine and transmission, a body or tires and wheels. The car has a clear title in the seller's name and comes equipped with a working ignition switch and key. This car will need to be picked up on a flatbed or tow truck as it does not run.
