Vehicle Detail
First time offered for sale since 1974. 1965 Fastback 2+2 A code 289 4 barrel carb, factory 4 speed. 3.00:1 rear axle. This fastback was built in San Jose and was sold new in Seattle. It has never left the west coast. Purchased from a dear family friend of many years. Car has only just over 55,000 miles actual and fully documented. Every body panel is original with the exception of a Shelby GT350 hood that was purchased in 1976 from A wrecked Shelby. If the hood is indeed a genuine Shelby hood it is worth a good deal but I will not guarantee that it is, I only have the word and information from the 75 year old prior owner and friend. The hood has the functioning scoop and is all fiberglass. It has some repairs on the underside of the hood and some small damage to one of the corners. The body on this fastback is extremely straight and car has no rust whatsoever. It has been stored in the same garage for over 45 years. The car itself has only 55k miles and original engine and tranny were rebuilt less than 2,000 miles ago. Engine is well built with cam. Car runs very very well and sounds great with dual exhaust. 4 speed trans shifts smoothly through gears. This car is fast! I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. One of the nicest attributes of this fastback is the color combination. It is factory Caspian Blue with blue interior. The Caspian Blue is a gorgeous color and the lighter blue interior really sets it off. Paint was done in the 1980's. It shows well but obviously has some small flaws. No dents or dings. One scratch in fiberglass hood about 3 inches long. The interior was all redone and with the exception of a couple small quarter sized holes in the headliner (damn mice!) the interior is near excellent. The trunk has its original parts tire jack and plaid trunk pad and tire cover. The car has very nice and clean wheels on vintage Dunlops that have 80% tread left. These are very expensive tires(if you can even find any!) and are great looking. All body lines are excellent and doors shut with ease. The underside is just as nice as the rest with no rust or floor repairs ever. All vins present and match including original door data tag. Title is clear and ready to go. Nada, Hemmings, and Hagerty value this A code 4 speed between $28,000-$58,000. My reserve is less than the lowest value for quick sale. Someone will be absolutely thrilled to own this beautiful car! Ask any and all questions prior to bidding and inspections must be done before auction end. Anyone with a zero feedback please contact me before bid or it will be retracted. Non paying bidders will be reported and pursued fully. Don't miss out on this amazing find! I also have a very nice OEM full length 4 speed console in matching color that I bought for the car for $800 that I will sell for $600 if winning bidder wants it!
