For your consideration is this beautiful 1965 Wimbeldon White Mustang Convertible. It started life in California with an early build date of July 24th 1964. Thus making it what is called as a 1964 1/2 We all know these early Mustangs were all titled as 1965's. It has many of the 1964 1/2 build traits like the Generator, Falcon Dash Cluster, Large Horn, Brake Switch on the master cylinder, Letter "A" on the air vent handle, No backup lights, Louvered Core Support for Battery Cooling, It remained in California until about 2000 when it was purchased by a gentleman here in Ohio. He drove it cross country to be put into his collection. It has only been driven on summer days and never in the rain or snow so I was told. At that time it was mostly original minus tires, brakes ect. Sometime in the early 2000"s he had it repainted in it's original color,Wimbledon White. Not a show quality paint job but a very presentable one. It's held up very well over the years. No rust ever. Floors, Torque Box's, Doors and Quarter panels are rust free. It retains 90 percent of it's original sheet metal. I believe the left front fender and inner from apron may have been replaced to a minor accident. Remember though it's a 50 year old car. The original 6 Cylinder 170 Cu Inch motor runs excellent. Mated to the original 3 speed transmission. No speed demon but a very nice weekend cruiser. Because it's a base model 6 cylinder I've toyed with the idea of doing an engine/drive train swap. It's too nice a car for me to do this too though. Next owner will have that option. The Convertible top is in excellent condition as is the rear window. See pictures of top up. Top may have been replaced and is like new condition. The top is manual as are the Steering and Brakes. The only power here is your own "Armstrong" steering, If you don't know what that is "IT Doesn't" have any power steering or brakes. Car goes down the road nicely and is easy to stop and steer. Parking brake works as does the heater and windshield wipers. The lower heater deflector needs replaced as it's original cardboard and has deteriorated. I have a new aftermarket replacement that comes with car. Car originally came with base wheel covers and I've added the Wire Wheel Covers as I like the look. Originals come with the car. They are period correct 64-65 wire covers and are from Ford. The top boot is red in the pictures and I also have a white one and a black on in the trunk. Not sure which is original as I bought the Red one for a better look. Overall it is a fine example of a 50 year old Mustang. If your looking to do a restoration or a resto-mod this would be a great car to start with. The reserve is reasonable for an early mustang in it's condition. Mileage is said to be Original as tracked thru the title change of owners over the years but remember it is 50 years old. It is For Sale Locally and seller reserves the right to cancel all bids.
