Vehicle Detail
1958 INTERNATIONAL 4X4 PICKUP This is a solid truck that is mostly original and in good shape for the year, and being un-restored. This has the style and appeal of a napco GM, but was factory made. I personally also like this year of international with the neat headlight trim. The body is solid with very little rust. This pickup has had two owners previous to me. The first owner was an electrical lineman and owned it for a long time (40 years) and took very good care of it. The truck also comes with what looks like an original, military style canvas canopy for the back. It has a steel tube frame that comes apart easily. It looks as though the canopy has never been use and the canvas is in nice shape. Here are more details on the cornbinder. I have more pics of the truck I can send for serious buyers. I also have VIDEO of it driving but cannot figure out how to embed right now. I can send the youtube link though. FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER. I CAN SELL IT ANYTIME. I CAN TALK VIA PHONE IF YOU PREFER SO EMAIL YOUR NUMBER AND I'LL CALL. MECHANICAL This pickup has what looks to be an original v8, although it is not. I was told that it originally had a six cylinder that was replaced with an international v8 many years ago. The conversion was done well, and looks original although I don't know that a v8 was even offered in this year. The motor does run, but smokes some. One day it didn't smoke after it ran for awhile but then smoked again. A fluid change/flush and letting it run for awhile may clear it up? It has sat for awhile so it's possible, but may need re-ringed at least. It does run smooth with no knocks, but needs the usual tuneup stuff. The clutch works fine. Doesn't slip or do anything abnormal. All gears work fine and transmission is fine. Brakes work enough for driving around the farm and loading. I would bleed/check/adjust them for road driving. Tires are good radials. Not great, but definitely usable and have plenty of tread. I believe they are e rated but would have to check that. Split rims with split rim spare. They did make non-split rims in this size and bolt pattern so you can switch them out if you don't like the split rims. I think the original jack may be in the truck but will have to double check that. The IHC square drive wrench is included which is cool. Those farmers loved their square drive stuff. Three new canister oil filters are included. 4x4 works as it should. This has one stick for high/low, and another for 2wheel/4wheel. I only had it up to about 35mph though so I'm not sure that all u-joints are perfectly tight. Steering feels fine. Frontend feels tight from what I could tell on gravel at low speeds. This has manual steering and brakes. No air. Drivers door latch does latch, but needs work. You have to manually put it in the right spot for it to latch. Turn signals work. BODY The body is in nice shape for an original survivor. It has little rust which I will detail. Each cab corner has rust, which you can see in the pics. Rear fenders have minor rust spot on each side where the fender meets the step in the front. An easy fix with sheetmetal. The only other rust is on the vertical area of the step, where you can step into the cab. This is flat metal and also an easy spot to fix. It is double wall, but you can get to the inside easily from underneath. The rest of the body is solid. Floorpans have pitting on the top but are very solid and thick still. No pinholes and will be fine with por15. The passenger front fender has been painted. The rest of the truck looks original with no signs of any collision work or bondo anywhere. Tailgate is bent up but does close. Bed is in great shape for a cornbinder. Most were abused on the ranch/farm. INTERIOR The seat is comfortable but needs recovered at least on the bottom. This truck has a cool overhead 8-track player that is supposedly rare. I never tried it. If not pictured, I have pictures of it. Passenger door panel looks like the drivers side but is not pictured. Original IHC floormat is in great shape actually. I believe heater fan works. Interior in these are pretty basic and utilitarian. OVERALL: This is a cool old original international and will be a hit at the car shows. It is a cool old first generation 4x4 like the napcos, but at a fraction of the price. Thanks and happy bidding. This cornbinder is sold as-is. On Aug-07-14 at 17:33:30 PDT, seller added the following information: tuddy5 Store
