See below for more details. Vehicle has been recently smogged with current California registration (plates removed for photo shoot). Up for sale is this extremely low-mileage 2000 Ford Excursion XLT with the powerful Triton V-10 engine. An engine that works less harder (at getting moving/accelerating, etc.) lasts a lot longer. You can get relatively close in fuel economy as the 5.4L Triton with less energy, which is why this engine will most likely out perform the V8 (In my opinion of course). The miles are correct at just under 35k as this was formerly a service vehicle for a Southern California Utility agency that got very little overall use. This Excursion drives and mechanically feels like it is brand new, like it’s just past the break in period, it’s very tight. It goes perfectly straight down the road with a recent balance and alignment performed. As seen in the pics, the tires have near new tire tread left. It doesn’t appear to have ever been involved in any accidents and doesn’t look like it has had any repaints. As this was an agency service vehicle, the Excursion currently has the following changes from a standard XLT as the factory had made a few changes to make it more like an XL work vehicle: Vinyl flooring, no 3rd row seat & 3rd row seat belts removed. I do have the 3rd row seat, seat belts and carpet flooring for the vehicle, but I am going to wait and see what the final buyer of the vehicle wants to do. At the BUY IT NOW price, the new owner can decide which configuration they would rather have it set up at by the time they pick it up. There are also 2 different rim choices available to you (see pics). You can choose which rims you would prefer to have on the vehicle by the time you come pick it up. The vehicle also already comes with the high capacity air for the rear passengers (that blows ice cold) and all other XLT options. I also have the original grey steel rims that were on the Excursion originally if you would like to have them. 1 rim will be used to provide for the spare tire that will be in place by the time of pick up. There is also a beefy (3”?) padded roll-bar behind the front seats that goes up the pillar and along the roof line, it’s held in by 8 bolts total. It can be removed and bolts put back in place or the holes can be patched, which I can take care of if requested. You may like the roll-bar however, the choice is yours. I had decided to leave it up to the buyer regarding the carpet kit and 3rd row seats and belts as this could also make a really nice work vehicle for someone. You can use the back of the truck in a utility fashion, locking everything up in the back with a single click of the locks. When you drop the 2nd row seats down, you have 8 foot of clear space so you can put 4x8 sheets of plywood in the back like a truck! Cargo Vans don’t come in 4wd, so if you need a 4wd cargo type of a van, this is perfect, just make the back as you like with racks and such. There are lots of options for configurations to suit your needs. With the 2nd row of seats going up and down, you can have lots of cargo/passenger options. These Expeditions are built on the Ford F-250 Super Duty chassis so they can take a lot of weight as well as have a huge towing capacity with the v10 engine and hitch that’s included. Although these Excursions are a rather large vehicle, they are very nimble and agile and are very easy to drive and control, they don’t bounce around, and have a smooth ridge, probably due to its large wheel base. It’s certainly much easier to drive/control than my previous 1997 Ford Explorer I had, which was already a great improvement and easier to drive than the 1st generation Explorers were with their twin I-beam suspensions. A note about these 6.8L V10 Triton engines, you can’t find them too often. When you look at the Econoline vans that come with it, you can see them for sale still going strong with well over 300K miles. These are 100K mile maintenance-free engines, so this one is still 65K miles away from a major service interval/tune-up. They also produce not only a largest Horsepower rating at 310HP compared to the diesel’s 250HP, but it also produces a whopping 425 foot lbs of torque identical to the diesels rating also at 425 lb-ft. The added benefit of the horsepower is you gain passing ability at higher speeds, such as for passing on the highway where accelerating may be necessary. The Excursion has decent paint with shine, but it is not brand new. There is also a small 3” dent on the left corner of the front bumper ( I can get a brand new bumper assembly for it for $250 if you prefer). The body is straight and doesn’t appear to have been in any accidents. Touch up’s have been performed on the vehicle to ensure that it will remain long lasting and rust-free for many years to come. If you have any questions or need any additional photos, please don’t hesitate to ask by emailing me directly. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
