Vehicle Detail

Canadian model 94-23 1 ton (Equivalent to the US built heavy duty ¾ ton) Long bed Selling because I'm retiring. 1940 GMC older amateur restoration, maybe 20 years ago by a previous owner. It has a 1955 235 that was completely rebuilt by Jasper, installed in 2005. This motor has less than 150 miles on it. It starts and runs like new. Carb rebuilt by Larry Isgro. Has 6 volt alternator, rebuilt distributor, new oil pump, water pump, fuel pump, clutch. Accessory oil filter added. Manifolds were resurfaced. The road draft tube, valve cover and air cleaner are from the original 224 motor, so it retains the original look. 4 speed Transmission rebuilt by Grave's Automotive Fredericksburg. VA NOS U-joints and drive shaft rear end and drive rebuilt, All new bearings in rear end and in the short shaft. I just installed a a period Airline radio restored by Gary Tayma and it works like a champ Radiator was rebuilt with new core and a pressurized neck installed with 3 lb cap. Heater core cleaned and tested. New Optima battery bought this year. Has new exhaust system, Rebuilt vacuum wiper motor, new hubcaps. New rear wheel cylinders installed. Rear end was originally a .455, but previous owner installed .411 gears. 17" good wheels/tires. This combination gives it plenty of road speed. Steering is tight for it age. Brakes are good. Rebuilt master cylinder. New front tires and tubes mounted by Little Tire, Fredericksburg. VA this year. This is not a show truck. It is a driver. The engine and tranny are strong. I don't know any of the restoration details the previous owner did. The body has scratches, dings and chips, and a small dent or two, the paint is old. It 87" long bed truck. It has wood on the inside of the bed sides. I took it off the tail gate because it did not look good. Drips some oil as most of the old stove bolt trucks do. I use 140 weight in the U-Joint ball housings rear end and and tranny. New seat belts installed. If I was going to keep this truck I would install new window trim and I would replace the original steel cloth covered wire. I have a batter disconnect installed on the negative post so I can disconnect the battery when it is sitting because of the cloth covered wire. E-mail for more pictures. Not sure the mileage is correct. sold as is. so please ask questions. On Sep-23-14 at 15:38:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: I have a clean Virginia Title for this truck. It was titled the year it was built in late 1939. However, it has the new 1940 design features that came out in late 1939 and it is a 1940 model.
