Vehicle Detail

From Mike and Mary Kay, the current owners. Gas heater did not work when we purchased the car. The forced air heater works fine. The rear window defroster also does not work. When closing the gas cap, you must pull back the opening handle inside the car with one hand and close the gas cap with the other.  The black knob on the passenger side window handle is loose and you must be careful when using it.  Harness seat belts are loose but I assume can be adjusted. The lap belts are good.  Fan and vent knobs work fine.  The rim on the right speaker is cracked but glued.  The clock runs slow, but runs.  Looking at the tach and speedometer, one light is not as bright as the other.  The radio is not original. The replacement radio has a CD player and remote, which is in the glove box. There are Bose speakers.  There are two holes behind the front seats, one on each side, where I removed speakers that the previous owner had installed.  The trim on the left door pocket does not fit tight.  There is a  fire extinguisher in the right rear seat.  The left armrest is cracked. The front headlights have been replaced. Windshield wiper blades are about 4 years old, I'm not sure how brittle they might be. The windshield wiper sprayers worked the last time I used them, but that was a while ago. One letter on the back "P O R SC H E" has been glued on from the inside, and some on outside, I think the S. At some time, the right rear lights did not always work. They were repaired and that is why I have an extra right rear light housing as you can see in the parts picture. We had only been married 3-4 months when we saw a a car in the newspaper that we were interested in. It was a 1969 912 Porsche, and this was the spring of 1973. We went to see the vehicle, liked what we saw and purchased it. It has been in our family ever since. This was one of our two cars, so was driven by one of us to work daily. We also enjoyed getting it out on the mountain roads in Colorado, as it was such fun to drive on the winding roads. One of our favourite drives was Independence Pass going to Aspen. Our first longer trip in the car was in June 1974, when visited relatives in Las Vegas, Nevada. We decided to camp along the way, and since Porsches don't have a lot of storage space, we borrowed a canvas pup tent from some friends.   We have fond memories of the drive out through Ouray, Colorado and the Grand Canyon, and once again just the fun of driving our Porsche on the back roads.
