Vehicle Detail

Selling my 1997 CBR900RR with exceptionally low miles, amazing condition considering that it's 17 years old and truly needs a couple minor touch ups to make it like BRAND NEW. Bike is all stock other then a Kerker bolt on muffler. Even has OEM signals, rear fender, sprocket, you name it. Not going to waste time listing all the specs of this bike, readily available by searching it on the internet. Every vehicle has a story, here's this one. I started a collection of bikes this year, my Ducati's, my ZX7RR and a handful of Honda's. I realize that CBR900's aren't highly collectible but it was one of my favorites when I was growing up so added it to the list. I've since solid off my ZX7, RVF400, my NSR250 and my Panigale as some circumstances at home have changed my mindset a bit and I'm cleaning out the garage so I can move to the beach (with no garage, unfortunately). This particular bike I bought from a woman in the inland empire about 4 months ago, she had bought it to ride personally as her father and brother told her not too…She rode it down the driveway, dropped it at truly less then a couple MPH. Needless to say, it scared her, she parked it in the garage and it sat for 5 years plus. Owner before that just never rode it and kept it under a cover in garage. When I picked it up, I paid a little too much (as I was told it was perfect)… It had dust all over it, fork seals were gone and therefore fork legs, brakes and wheels were covered with grime and a few blems here and there. Didnt feel like heckling so took a slight discount and took it home. I then pulled the front end completely apart, soaked every piece in degreaser, took the fork tubes to a Honda dealer and had new seals and fluid installed. I then scrubbed the wheels, brakes, inner fender, every allen bolt until they looked like new. At the same time, I cleaned every inch of this bike until it shined perfectly. There was a long crack by the headlight in the nose fairing where something fell on it in her garage, a tiny rub mark on the bar end and a couple hairline scratches on the clutch over. I bought a brand new clutch cover, new bar end and sent the nose section out for repair. The painter matched the color SO perfectly that you would never know it was painted, I assure you it's pristine and it would be impossible to tell it was painted other then he had to clear over the stickers on the nose with UV Clear. Bright side it's PERFECT, down is that you couldn't peel off the nose stickers if you wanted to. I just put it back together over the last week (nose took a while to get back from painter), replaced some missing screws and triple checked all parts. I installed a new petcock, a new fuel filter, inner tank filter, new oil and oil filter as well. I've had it on a battery tender for last 4 months by the way. Just hand Honda dealer go through the bike, complete rebuild on the carbs with all new gaskets, clean and sync them at a cost of $700 and she runs perfectly! Picture shows expired Registration, I have new tags I need to install from prior owner and they are good until 02/10/2015. I have a clean title in hand, registration, plates…etc. I do not have the stock exhaust but I have the parts I pulled off and to could send you pics of the bar end and such to show how minor the fall was. Here's what it would take to make it perfect:1. You will see a couple close ups of the sides of the fairing, both sides have small knicks in a couple of the stickers. The scratches DO NOT extend into the paint or plastic so you could either replace the OEM stickers and it would be like new or throw some racing decals such as Kerker, AFAM…etc to cover them up and you'd never know.2. Tail section is perfect, as is seats, gauges, triple etc. Not a rock chip on forks, headlight etc…truly not one.3. Tank has a small scratch but only in the clear (on top). Difficult to see but it's there not too far from gas cap. My painter friend said he could drop a dot of clear, color sand and it would be as new but he's out of the country until Oct. Again, not even a ding, just a small scratch in the clear. Long write up I know but I want to answer as many questions upfront to help move it quickly. It's for sale locally so make up your mind quick or it may be gone. I'm up for offers, I realize the first asking price is higher then others but I honestly have more then this into it and after all..it's like getting a new bike with a couple minor blemishes. You won't be disappointed! It truly looks amazing in person! Sounds great with pipe too, nice throaty tone as opposed to some of the smaller Kerker's with the annoying whine. Thank you for looking. I'll help deliver close by as I have a truck, otherwise, set up a carrier and I'll assist. I have a carrier I can recommend if you're too far.. **Price just lowered** She looks great in person! Update: Just put 10 more miles on her, shop did an amazing job with carb rebuild, runs just like new!! Guaranteed you'll love it. Open to all offers.
