Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1971 Suzuki T125. It is the second T125 I have restored. The first went to a local collector here in Minnesota. That machine, a Pop Green 1970, is featured in an article in the September/October 2012 issue of "Motorcycle Classics" magazine. I liked that bike so much I decided to restore this one. They are odd and interesting machines with their twin down draft carburetors, swoopy exhaust, and cylinders laying nearly flat forward. I purchased this machine from the original owner and it had sat unused for many years. I began the strip down with a crank seal pressure test. The pressure was well within spec so the crankcase halves were left unopened on this low mileage bike. The cylinders were removed for painting and a light hone was applied to the cylinders and new piston rings fitted. The wheel hubs and outer engine covers were powder coated in a close match to the original silver paint. The tank has been professionally sealed and repainted in a correct, though optional for the US market, yellow. The frame, swinging arm, battery box, seat pan, center stand, and other various bits were powder coated gloss black. The seat was professionally recovered with a correct pattern cover. The wheels were laced with NOS Suzuki spokes. I used the best original rims I could find. I do not like to have rims rechromed as a rule. Over-zealous polishing can leave very thin metal and weak spots where the spoke nipples exit the rim. The rims show a few marks from tire mountings past, but are still very, very nice. Parts that were rechromed include the fenders front and rear, flasher housings and stalks, air box, handlebars, front fork lowers, headlight bucket and ears, exhaust stingers and heat guards, rear taillight bracket, points cover, chain guard, and many other little odds and ends that I am sure I have forgotten. It is fitted with a new wiring harness as well as new tires, tubes, sprockets, chain, and control cables. The original mileage is actually 2550, not the 4000 plus shown. The original the speedo had water damage and I replaced it with the best I could find. I will include a picture of the original speedo. The original tachometer still has most of the removable "break-in" instructions on the glass. It also comes equipped with a beautiful matching pair of Suzuki āSā stamped mirrors. Very hard to find and pricey. This machine won the "Suzuki Best in Class" giant polished wrench award at the VJMC AMCA combined motorcycle show at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds back in June. I can send you a picture of the award if you like. I can also send you a Youtube link of the bike starting and running through the gears. It is a beautiful little twin that starts easily and runs strongly. It accelerates briskly and makes a wonderful sound doing so. It comes with a clear Minnesota title in my name. Shipping is totally the buyer's responsibility but I can help load at this end. $500 Paypal deposit is required with 48 hours of auctions end. The balance can be a check or money transfer, but the bike does not leave my possession until my bank guarantees that the payment is good. I can store this bike for up to 45 days at no additional charge. Bidders with less than 5 feedback ratings must contact me before bidding or risk being blocked. Thanks for looking and good luck. Feel free to contact me with any questions. There is no reserve, so this beautiful little jewel will sell. You will not be disappointed. I am really lousy at adding eBay pictures, I find their system is so user unfriendly. So, if there is some item in particular you wish to see at a larger size, contact me and I will send you giant Nikon DSLR files for your perusal.
