Vehicle Detail

This truck was in storage. With gas and battery, it started right up. I took it out on the freeway to 80 mph with no effort. The engine is strong and runs evenly. With the automatic transmission, power steering and brakes, it makes driving easy. It stops on a dime. With the factory AC it would be a comfortable ride. Steering and alignment are tight and straight. No vibrations. Accessories such as hazard warning, instrument gauges, high beam, horn, wipers, heater fan etc. all work. The spare tire holder, bottle jack and lug wrench are all there. Oil stays clean and pressure is good. It does not run hot, smoke, leak oil or make strange noise. The Camper Special comes with a locked tools compartment, and switchable fuel tanks. This one has 5 good tires. You won't see the optional Pull Bar in front with the V-5 rated chrome rear bumper very often. Hitch is rated at 1,000 pounds tongue weight for a 10,000 pounds trailer. Latches and locks work with original set of keys. The racing dual 2 1/2" exhaust sounds like a jet boat about to plane off! Body is straight. Solid chassis and cab floor. With the camper top, the paint on the bed is original and not scratched up as it would be otherwise. Paint on the hood is faded. The rest of the original paint on the sides still has some shine. A good polish is invariably due. Set of fancy laser cut alloy wheels! The interior is attractive red velour piping. The dash has no cracks. The headliner is excellent original, as are both door panels. The air conditioning had been disconnected at some popint. All the equipment are intact. It would require service to be functional. It even has an old school Jensen 8-track tape deck! (It may or may not work.) The details we know it needs, to make this a fun daily driver: 1. Shift indicator is missing. I have to count clicks, i.e. 0-Park, 1-Reverse, 2-Neutral, 3-Drive to drive it. 2. The left front glass on the shell is missing. There is a complete replacement window in the camper, (see picture.) It has not been installed. 3. I rolled down the passenger side window, and the glass fell out of its track. It will have to be re installed. 4. AC needs service. Check out uShip to bid your shipping transport. With your vision and pride of ownership, the above list is short to fulfill the image of what this truck could become. Subject to local sale.
