Up for auction, with no reserve, is a very rare and original early model 1962 Austin Healey Sprite MK II Roadster. One of the first 500 built from the factory. She was an original California car before going to Arizona and her body is extremely dry and very straight. This British classic is truly a gem inside & out. Under the bonnet is her Austin 9CG 948 CC engine numbered 188. Equipped with dual SU carburetion, a smooth case 4 speed transmission, 4 wheel drum brakes, tachometer drive generator and negative ground. This classic is very stock mechanically as well. The engine, carbs, generator, starter, rear differential and new lever shocks were all recently rebuilt by Byrons MGB in Tucson before her journey to Phoenix. The engine was rebuilt with a no lead cylinder head, cast pistons and heavy duty bearings. The exterior is Iris Blue with a touch of grey and comes with a very rare White Bubble Hardtop and all Marina Blue upholstery. The paint is sharp and inside spotless. Instrument cluster is very original with an exception to a CD player that looks fantastic (original MG radio delete plate included) and an electric windshield washer motor installed. Stock steel AH wheels with correct matching hubcaps and like new white wall tires all around. Three point drivers seat belt to keep you in place while enjoying the open road. She runs and drives nicely and can be enjoyed from day one. The early production MK II cars came with riveted radiator valences, matching painted gas gap and two removable engine bay side covers to help keep your tools in place. New complete collapsible black convertible soft top with proper hardware, just installed, fresh out of the box. This classic is rare and comes with only eighty thousand original Box A miles, original California Black Plate and has a very low vehicle identification number and may be one of the earliest Sprite MK II Healeys to arrive in America.
