Description This is being re-listed due to a non paying international bidder. Please bid only if you intend to purchase the vehicle. You are looking at an original 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback, equipped with a 351 Cleveland and C6 transmission. It has been well taken care of by a local owner who has decided to downsize. Below is a video collection of the automobile: This is a true Mach 1 based on the 5 in the VIN number and owner history. Please scroll down and enjoy the 350+ photos. If you cannot view all the photos, please click here. Mechanically, it runs and drives well for the age of the car. The engine is smooth and starts right up. It steers / turns stops better than we expected. The gauges appear to work as do the headlights and other bulbs. The car also stops and shifts well. It has a shift kit, and shifts well as you would expect. The vehicle is surprisingly smooth and comfortable at 45-55 MPH as well. The original wheels were discarded years ago. Cosmetically, this is one of the nicer cosmetics we have encountered. It would easily win a local or regional show. However, it is not a 100 point show car. As you can see, it was professionally reconditioned years ago and is very, very nice. There is some surface rust in the trunk under the mat as shown. This appears to be from moisture but it does not appear to be through from what we could tell. This should be wire brushed and sealed. The front bumper brackets that bolt on also appears to be in need of replacement at some point as shown. We were pleasantly surprised when looking at the floorboards, shackles and other normal trouble spots as this is a very clean example with little underbody rust. Also note that the exterior panels and color appear to be original but no guarantees. We could not detect any accidents. Please see the photos to have a better gauge of vehicle condition. It does look as good in person as it does in the photos. The car runs and drives extremely well for the age and was a pleasure to drive for the auction videos. We were impressed with the outstanding cosmetic and mechanical condition. This is one of the nicest 1973 Mach 1 models that is not over-restored and the physical condition is as nice in person as it is in the photos. These Mustangs are truly an American icon. Additional auction information: This vehicle is sold as-is. We cannot warranty any parts and as with any vintage vehicle, they are always a project in some way. Please note this before bidding if you are looking for a vehicle that will operate like a new vehicle. Collector cars are many times tempermental and reliability can be a factor on some. We also did not test each accessory or feature, and only drove the vehicle for a short distance. Any of these should be trailered to their destination until the vehicle is checked over for safety (tires, etc). The title is free and clear, and we are also requiring a bill of sale be signed by the new owner stating this car is being purchased as-is. It is a very straight original car as you can see in the photos. It gets a ton of attention and would make a great addition to your Mercury or classic car collection.
