Vehicle Detail
Amazingly well restored, solid, never rusted beautiful B. This is the last of the great looking chrome bumper cars. In classic British racing green. This car was bought about 10 years ago as a very nice incredibly solid one owner car out of an estate. It then went through a multi year complete professional restoration. The body is in amazing condition. I have never seen a more solid, unmolested straight looking car. The trunk, floors, rockers, fenders, underside and engine bay look almost new. The paint is about 5 years old and shines up beautifully. No signs of any bodywork. The interior is almost as nice. I have ordered the missing glove box lock. The keys were lost and the lock needed to be replaced and ignition needed to be rekeyed. It runs very well. Perfectly straight and brakes are great. It pulls strong in all gears and down shifts just as well. Everything was rebuilt on the car during the restoration so it runs and drives like it did in 1973. The only thing I have determined does not work properly is the fuel gauge which works but I believe is inaccurate. It sounds like there may be a slight leak in the exhaust although it is a new stainless steal exhaust. It just sounds a bit louder than I think it should. All the lights and even the lighter work as they should Mostly what this car needs is to be driven. It has been sitting stored in a heated garage for the past few tears and would do well to get it out and drive it a few hundred miles. If I have time and weather permitting I intend to do just that over the next several days. These MGBs are a joy to drive and incredibly reliable. Everything else seems to function as it should and the oil pressure is strong and steady at any temp in any gear or in neutral. It runs cool after a long drive in 80 degree heat. It does not appear to leak any oil. Starts right up. It has a new 12 volt single battery in it and is negative ground. The top on the car is the original and in poor condition. However, I have a new one from Victoria British in the box ready to install. There is no boot cover or cockpit cover. Lots of extra parts as well that go with it. Tires are fairly new. Please look at all the photos and as questions or come see it prior to bidding. I need the room so the reserve is very low and I fully intend for it to sell. The are great fun little cars that have recently really started to go up in value. There are not many things in life that you can enjoy this much and always get more than you paid when your done. Please ask questions and complete inspections prior to bidding. Your bid is an unconditional agreement to purchase the car so pleae do your homework first. The only opinion that matters is yours. I reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction if the car is sold prior to the end of the auction. Don't let another one slip away. These get more expensive and harder to find in this condition every year. I can be reached at 614-352-3434 (jeff)
