Vehicle Detail
I have held onto this thinking I'll have the money to restore it, but I can't keep this and rebuild the engine on my 73.5, so here it is. I am the third owner, first owner sold it in '74 in San Diego, and it has lived outside of Wichita KS ever since. I bought it May '11, it had sat in a field for a few years. Unfortunately vandals stole the targa top and badges, resulting in the rust you see. The worst is in the rear passenger sway bar area, near the pedal box, and around the rear transmission tunnel. Very original, no body panel has been touched or painted since it left the factory, the engine has never been out. It is numbers matching of course. I have not tried to turn it over. The first owner fitted it with sport seats(with proper tilt bases), and the 169 fogs, and at some point an S suspension was swapped in with Koni struts and alloy calipers. The toolkit is there, though a little crusty, and the PO says he has the maroon dealer service record book. I am in the military in NC, the car is in KS in my dad's hanger. I stripped out the rotted carpet when I got it to check out the floor, of course all the seat belt and other interior stuff was saved. It still has its 5 proper comfort option 14" Fuchs. There was a 1974 receipt in the glovebox for two XAS tires that I pulled off the car, you can see that it has not been molested, unless you count the awesome Sears radio in it. The fuel tank is gone, it was a mess and I threw it away before I knew better. Message me for more info or pics. Paypal deposit of $2,000 due within 24hr of auction end, buyer to arrange all shipping. Thanks, Jordan On Aug-18-14 at 19:12:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Edit - Added some pics of the door bottoms. There is a small bit of rust on the drivers bottom, but the rest is just cobwebs. Check out the hand painted black the factory did under the door panels.
