Vehicle Detail
Very nice original and one owner 1973 Mustang Convertible. The car has been located here in the CT area since new. The car comes with a CT registration and bill of sale signed by the original owner. The car is being advertised elsewhere so I do reserve the right to end the auction early either for a buy it now or if sold through another avenue. This is an incredible car with the best documented history I've ever seen on a Mustang. The file that comes with the car is incredible. The file shows all purchase and service history on the car until the death of the original owner. The car has the following options and features: 302 cubic inch V-8 enginePower front disc brakesPower convertible topColor keyed carpeting and vinyl seatsCruise-O-Matic automatic transmission'Power steeringDeluxe bumpersAM radioWheel covers The original production sheet along with a copy are included in the sale. I have a Deluxe Marti Report to accompany the car for the new owner. When I took the car out of the garage six weeks ago, i changed the oil and put fresh gas in. I purchased a new battery, installed a correct replacement fuel pump and starter relay. She started on the first try...just like she did every time after her annual winter slumber accordking to the owners diary that is with the car. The car is a remarkably well maintained car. The body is good with no major dents and absolutely no rust with the exception of the passenger side door bottom where there is a line of rust from end to end. The quarters are solid. The drivers side door has a very small circle of rust right on the lower right corner...about the size of a quarter. The paint is very shiny and matches what was original sprayed from the factory. The interior is mostly original with newer carpeting in nice condition. The seats are good with wear on the drivers seat and a tear in the drivers side rear seat bottom. The dash and instruments are all original and very nice. The original vinyl dash has no tears or cracks. The car has aftermarket Mustang floor mats. The top is either original or a very old replacement and needs to be replaced. It has two large tears in it. The top motors work perfectly. The door panels are original and have some damage to the arm rests. The engine bay is tidy but has never been detailed. It has a new battery and the alternator works. The engine has good strong compression and absolutely no knocking sounds or any other concerning sounds. The trunk is full of extra parts, the spare and jack. The trunk floor is solid. The undercarriage is also very solid with lots of surface rust but no apparent cancerous rust or rust holes. the exhaust system is good and the car runs quietly. When I pulled the car and rehabbed it, I did not do the brakes or suspension. Both seem to function well with the little bit of driving I've done in the car but I strongly recommend a full safety inspection and maintenance if you intend on driving this car longer distances. It is being sold as is. It has a very well known and clear history. The diary is a joy to read, you can relive the life of this very car. Summary: The car can be a great driver as is. It would require substantial cosmetic work to be a show car. It has a great history and no negative history. The 200,000 miles are believed original but as per CT law, the car has to be sold 'Odometer in excess of mechanical limits'. Other items included in the sale:Five volume set of original 1973 Ford shop service manuals. These are originals and not reprints and have been with the car since new.The aforementioned Marti Report. The original ownership manual for this car.A file of receipts showing work done on this car.The diary. All of the original purchase and loan documents. The original and copy of the original invoice.
