This original and unrestored Saab appears to have been transported through time from the showroom floor in 1990. With only 67,264 actual miles on the odometer, this truly is a one-of-a-kind. The quirky and classic Saab style has held up well and this car turns heads everywhere it goes. This particular car spent its early years in Reno, Nevada, before coming to the Northwest. The nicely maintained roads and temperate climate of the Pacific Northwest helped preserve its condition. Fire up the motor, drop the top, and take a trip down Nostalgia Lane! You can search the body from bumper to bumper and you won’t find a single door ding. The body panels are extremely straight and the panel gap and fitment is factory. The individual panels retain the factory VIN stickers (see pictures) supporting their originality and authenticity. The Saab recently received a full detail and polish and the paint truly pops. It’s amazing how much luster and depth the paint contains even after all these years. The body side moldings and bumpers are in excellent condition as well. All of the molding is present and they have retained their matte finish without showing any signs of fading. The lenses of the headlights, tail lamps, and turn signals are crystal clear without any cracking or fogging. The only obvious flaw on the exterior can be found around the window of the top. Some sealant or glue was added by the previous owner to hold the piping down, but is only noticeable on close examination. The Saab rides on the factory painted wheels. The wheels are in exceptional shape and do not contain any scrapes or rash from being rubbed against a curb. All four wheels are wrapped in Toyo Eclipse tires. These touring tires have deep tread remaining and provide a quiet and comforting ride. Open the clamshell style bonnet and be impressed by the cleanliness and originality of the mechanicals. In classic Saab style, this 900 is powered by a 2.0L Turbo engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The turbo 4-cylinder provides both power and efficiency. The engine compartment is very clean and supports the meticulous care and service this Saab has received. Turn the console mounted key and the engine starts instantly and settles into a smooth idle. The engine doesn’t burn or leak any oil. The clutch is strong and allows the 5-speed manual transmission to engage and shift between the gears smoothly. In the interest of disclosure, I noticed that the 2nd gear synchro appeared to be a bit slow during some spirited driving. It’s been many years since I’ve driven one of these Saabs so I honestly can’t tell if it’s me or just the age of the vehicle. Regardless, the mechanics of this Saab are truly impressive considering it has spent 24 years on this year. All the exterior glass is crystal clear and scratch free without any delamination or imperfections. Look closely at the photos and you'll notice the original Saab stamping on the glass. The power windows and power top all function properly and go up and down smoothly. Due to being used most, the driver’s window is slightly slower than the rest than the remaining three. The interior features the original luxurious Dark Gray leather seating. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery. The foam padding of the seats is firm and not worn down from age and use. The factory Gray carpet is stain free and maintains its factory plushness. The headliner of the top is in excellent shape as well. This is a smoke free convertible. The cigarette lighter and ashtray have never been used. The door panels have no cracks and the armrests are wear free. The dashboard is crack free and doesn't show any sun fading. Being a European car means that the every detail was engineered to the highest standard. The instrument cluster is designed to keep the driver informed and includes a factory tachometer, coolant temperature gauge, turbo boost gauge, and clock. Mounted below the radio are auxiliary gauges that display oil pressure and battery amperage. All are in working order. Open the trunk and you will find the original Factory Tool kit and spare tire. The spare tire and tools appears to be in original and unused condition. The trunk carpeting is in exceptional condition and doesn’t contain any damage from leaks or moisture. The stereo system is one of the only non-factory parts of the car. It has been upgraded with an aftermarket head unit and trunk mounted CD changer. Despite the upgrade, you can still drop the top and enjoy the tunes from a different era. Being a premium vehicle means this convertible is fully loaded. Factory options include tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power windows & door locks, and air conditioning. Feel free to give me a call to discuss any questions you have about the Saab. The quirky and classic Saab style has held up well and this car turns heads everywhere it goes. This particular car spent its early years in Reno, Nevada, before coming to the Northwest. The exterior retains the original Dark Gray Metallic Paint. You can search the body from bumper to bumper and you won’t find a single door ding. The body panels are extremely straight and the panel gap and fitment is factory. The individual panels retain the factory VIN stickers (see pictures) supporting their originality and authenticity. The Saab recently received a full detail and polish and the paint truly pops. It’s amazing how much luster and depth the paint contains even after all these years.
The body side moldings and bumpers are in excellent condition as well. All of the molding is present and they have retained their matte finish without showing any signs of fading. The lenses of the headlights, tail lamps, and turn signals are crystal clear without any cracking or fogging. The only obvious flaw on the exterior can be found around the window of the top. Some sealant or glue was added by the previous owner to hold the piping down, but is only noticeable on close examination.
The Saab rides on the factory painted wheels. The wheels are in exceptional shape and do not contain any scrapes or rash from being rubbed against a curb. All four wheels are wrapped in Toyo Eclipse tires. These touring tires have deep tread remaining and provide a quiet and comforting ride.
Open the clamshell style bonnet and be impressed by the cleanliness and originality of the mechanicals. In classic Saab style, this 900 is powered by a 2.0L Turbo engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The turbo 4-cylinder provides both power and efficiency.
The engine compartment is very clean and supports the meticulous care and service this Saab has received. Turn the console mounted key and the engine starts instantly and settles into a smooth idle. The engine doesn’t burn or leak any oil.
The clutch is strong and allows the 5-speed manual transmission to engage and shift between the gears smoothly. In the interest of disclosure, I noticed that the 2nd gear synchro appeared to be a bit slow during some spirited driving. It’s been many years since I’ve driven one of these Saabs so I honestly can’t tell if it’s me or just the age of the vehicle. Regardless, the mechanics of this Saab are truly impressive considering it has spent 24 years on this year.
All the exterior glass is crystal clear and scratch free without any delamination or imperfections. Look closely at the photos and you'll notice the original Saab stamping on the glass. The power windows and power top all function properly and go up and down smoothly. Due to being used most, the driver’s window is slightly slower than the rest than the remaining three.
The interior features the original luxurious Dark Gray leather seating. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery. The foam padding of the seats is firm and not worn down from age and use. The factory Gray carpet is stain free and maintains its factory plushness. The headliner of the top is in excellent shape as well. This is a smoke free convertible. The cigarette lighter and ashtray have never been used. The door panels have no cracks and the armrests are wear free.
The dashboard is crack free and doesn't show any sun fading. Being a European car means that the every detail was engineered to the highest standard. The instrument cluster is designed to keep the driver informed and includes a factory tachometer, coolant temperature gauge, turbo boost gauge, and clock. Mounted below the radio are auxiliary gauges that display oil pressure and battery amperage. All are in working order.
Open the trunk and you will find the original Factory Tool kit and spare tire. The spare tire and tools appears to be in original and unused condition. The trunk carpeting is in exceptional condition and doesn’t contain any damage from leaks or moisture.
The stereo system is one of the only non-factory parts of the car. It has been upgraded with an aftermarket head unit and trunk mounted CD changer. Despite the upgrade, you can still drop the top and enjoy the tunes from a different era.
Being a premium vehicle means this convertible is fully loaded. Factory options include tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power windows & door locks, and air conditioning.
