This is a NO RESERVE auction for a 1965 BMW R60/2 outfitted with a 1975 900cc driveline. Bike was origionally intended for solo use with a /5 front end but a Jawa sidecar came along so I hooked it up. Earls Fork is included and is recommended for sidecar use. Origional engine block is also included. The bike underwent extensive modifications to adapt a later 900cc engine, transmission and final drive. Origional frame was only slightly modified but swingarm was spliced to accept 1970's rear drive units that are plentiful and have a wide variety of gear ratios. The 1975 engine offers electric start, 12 volt electrical, a five speed transmission and twice the horsepower. It had approxamitely 40 thousand miles before it got removed from the original bike and got a full rebuild. The headlight is from a 1972 that works well with the bike because it has a speedometer [working] and a tachometer [not working] that look very similar to the original and has a modern H4 headlight. Hella turn signals and horn are included but not installed and wiring is in place with "turtle" switches. I have put a few miles on the bike but not thoroughly broken it in and have not ventured more than around the block with the car. An aftermarket steering dampner is highly recommended before any sidecar riding is planned. Bike has 37/11 gears in the rear end which make it very fast with a low top speed and good for pulling the chair. The original bench seat is included but a Bates solo seat is on bike. A fairing is also included I believe either Wixom or Avon but not positive. At this point the bike runs and drives but should have the brake pads replaces along with tires and the sidecar properly adjusted or "tuned". Paint and upholstery will of need attention. Sidecar lights are not hooked up but ones on the bike work. The original California title is included but never got t ransferred to my name and registration has been paid. Steering lock key is missing but ignition key and tank tool box are present. Terms of sale. Deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours auctions close and full payment due within 7 days close of auction. I can keep the bike here for a reasonable amount of time while shipping arangements are being made. Delivery is possible but not guaranteed. I can assist with shipping but shipping is the full responsibility of buyer. Bike is being sold as is where is and has no warranty.
