The stated auction terms must be observed to maintain this guarantee. This is a beautiful 1978 Mercedes Benz 450SL with 99,958 original miles. I am not a classic Mercedes expert or aficionado, but I’ll tell you everything I know and have observed about this car. The V8 engine runs strong and smoothly. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and does not smoke or make any noises. The transmission shifts very nicely. The matching set of Pirelli tires are showing most of their tread and the brake pads are in great condition as well. I drove this car for a few miles and it runs and drives surprisingly well; much more nicely than I would have expected from an older car. I believe this SL is a fully unmodified vehicle, and everything appears to be working, including the air conditioning, power antenna and the original Becker radio. The exterior of this 450SL looks fabulous. The Silver paint is super glossy and brilliant over the entire body, and is not faded anywhere. There aren't any dents or scratches on the body, and there isn't any body rust at all. The rocker panels are solid, clean and rust free. The bumpers are in good shape with nothing other than some minor bruises. The wheels are shiny and clean. All exterior trim pieces are intact, tight and in excellent condition. The hard top looks like is was barely used, and the soft top is brand spanking new. The interior has been very well maintained, and it looks terrific. The seats are in excellent condition without any rips, holes or wear damage. They are firm and supportive and are not saggy. There are some cracks on the top of the dash pad, but otherwise the dash and console are in great shape. The door panels are in perfect condition without any damage. The interior trim is not faded or UV damaged, because this Mercedes has been garaged when not in use. This was a non-smoker owned vehicle, and there aren’t any smoke odors or burn marks inside this car. This is a beautiful looking and very presentable 450SL that should serve the new owner well. The title is clean and clear without any liens or encumbrances. *NOTE* We will be closed for vacation from August 2-12. I will not have cell coverage for the majority of this time. REGISTRATION, TITLES & FEES: Out of state purchasers do not pay any Pennsylvania sales tax. A $60 fee will be added to the final sale price of each online transaction, which will cover document fees and preparation, notarizations, and courier costs. Temporary Transit Tags are available through the state of PA for $60, which will provide valid registration for a period of 30 days. In order to obtain this tag, please provide proof of insurance for any vehicle that you presently own. Titles are available to the buyer immediately upon full irrevocable payment, which is performed by bank wire transfer, cash in person, or certified personal check. Otherwise, the title will be sent to you after your payments have cleared our bank. Occasionally, a title is still being processed by the state and we will issue free temporary registration until the title is received. All vehicles we sell on eBay are stored in a separate secured facility and we require that all vehicles be picked up within ten days of auction completion. Storage charges after ten days will be charged at $15/day for cars, and more for trucks and larger vehicles depending on size. We will try to exercise some flexibility to accommodate special requests regarding our terms, if they are placed before the auction ends.
