The 1973 Maico is famous for its polished aluminum "coffin" style gas tank and its radial head motor which has a tremendous amount of low end power. Built by Maico in limited numbers, it won many races throughout Europe and the United States back in the day and is still very competitive in AHRMA races today.This particular bike was owned for years by a Porsche racing team whose Owner used it for transportation at the race events until he was asked by his competitors to find something a little quieter and not as scary fast.I acquired the bike with the intent of racing it in the AHRMA vintage M/X series but it was in such pristine condition because it had never been raced that I decided to restore the bike and add it to my collection instead.The bike features a powder coated frame, new Metzler tires, Progressive Suspension shocks, new crankcase seals, and rebuilt Bing carb.It is a classic example of precision design and engineering which set the standard for motocross in that era.The bike is offered on a bill of sale.
