Offered here is an eye-popping example of a 1972 BMW R75/5 Toaster Tank motorcycle. This is the original, short wheelbase model toaster that was offered in 1972 and the first half of 1973. It is in impeccable condition with only 16,000 miles on a frame-off renovation completed about 8 years ago. The sheet metal and chrome is in great condition. The engine is perfect and it runs like a top. I can honestly think of no shortcoming about the machine to disclose.The battery and tires are recent and in great shape. All fluids, including fork oil are current.The pictures speak for themselves. The original seat and handlebars are in great shape and go with the bike. If you are looking at this, you probably know this model and realize its collector appeal. I’ve ridden the bike and thoroughly enjoyed it. It runs a pace with much more modern machines but exudes a tremendous amount of character that has been engineered out of the later models. The R75 is simple, beautiful, easy to service and dependable.This is a lot of bike for the money and a bargain sure to appreciate when compared to the price of newer bikes. I hate to sell it but I am just trying to thin out a much-too-large herd of bikes that have become a chore just to maintain.
