Vehicle Detail

A recent purchase gone haywire has caused me to list this project. It's a 1949 Chevy Cab-over with a 19 foot steel Century rollback bed. I purchased two of these trucks about a year ago, immediately selling the first, and keeping the better of the two for my project piece. I ran across a burned Freightliner roll back and purchased the bed. I stretched the frame (fishplated-welded-bolted) using the rear section of another Chevy two ton I had. I did not retain the two speed and went in favor of the other trucks single for ease of use. It has the original 235 and four speed trans, with a new pto drive hydraulic pump for the roll-back. The truck runs out surprisingly well for the lack of work I've done to it. The truck was rewired using a Speedway rod wire kit and fitted with an alternator. All the gauges seem to be in order except the Speedo, which is not turning. All the lights work with the exception of the cab roof lights. I threw some buckets out of a little Chevy compact as the OG bench was gone when I got the truck. I put a new master cylinder in from the Filling Station and the truck does stop, all be it no Brembo. The front glass is good, but it will need both door glasses. The cab is in excellent shape with no through rust to be found and only minimal work needed for those wanting to restore the truck. The saddle tank is off a 73-87 Chevy pick-up and I put nearly new radial 19.5 tires on. The bed looks worse than is really is. The paint got hot and baked off giving it a unique patina. The wheel lift works--up down -in out. The bed goes out in, tilt up down. The winch could probably stand to be re-cabled, but works in both directions. There are a number of outer cross-members that will need replaced as these could the brunt of road debris/rust off the drive tires (pretty typical for steel Century's 2x2 square). I'm not trying to write a novel, I just want to tell you everything I know. THIS WILL NOT DRIVE CROSS COUNTRY. It's a running, driving, titled project, needing a new owner and completion. There is a tow-bar on the front, and it moves relatively easy, so a pickup should be able to tag this along. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I can be reached at 307-315-7919 if you'd like to speak to me in person. The winning bidder is responsible to arrange shipping. I will require a $500 deposit within 48hrs of winning bid, and would like the thing off my property the sooner the better.
