The Model T or Tin Lizzie as it was affectionately referred to, was built between October 1st 1908 and May 27th 1927 and was soon heralded as being not only the first affordable automobile for the middle class but was also named "The most influential car of the twentieth century" by an international poll. Over 15 million Model T's rolled off the assembly line and The Model T was the first automobile mass produced on moving assembly lines with completely interchangeable parts, marketed to the middle class. Henry Ford was quoted as saying of the Model T: "I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. Restored Museum Vehicle that drives and mechanically performs as it did new. This was the forerunner to what we know today as the modern day Taxi. It designed and built to transport passengers to railroad depots and steam boat piers. 90 Years old and WOW look at the condition....in 1924 Gasoline was .24 cents a gallon....how times and technology has changed! This 1924 Depot Hack was restored and sports an in-line, 2.9 liter 4 cylinder engine producing 20 HP that runs smoothly and reliably. It has a 2-Speed planetary gear transmission and the power reaches the differential through a single universal-joint attached to a torque tube which drives the rear axle. The brakes are mechanically operated drums at all four corners and the suspension employs a transversely mounted semi-elliptical spring for each of the front and rear beam axles.
