　 1949 Mercury 4 dr. sedan- A really fine old car priced right! No Reserve Drive it home The owner purchased this vehicle in 1988 when it only had 70,000 miles on it. Having retired at a young age he began repairing all of the mechanics, including rebuilding the original motor which he installed around 1993. The car has been driven 18,000 miles since then and was used primarily to attend national Early Ford V8 club events and local Ford V8 tours. Trips included Canada, and Bend Oregon with no overheating, vapor lock or any other problems experienced by show cars driven on the required meet tour. The car currently has almost 88,000 miles on it. Recently a new battery was installed along with a new brake master cylinder and one new tire. The motor has a full flow oil system. The car drives very nicely, shifts easily, and is a very comfortable ride. The Mercury original V8 engine runs cool. The interior upholstery is very nice. It does not have power steering nor does it have air condition or power brakes. It has an excellent manual transmission with a fine performing overdrive. The paint job is old, but acceptable (depending on your standards) while a new paint job would enhance this car as it is worthy of the expense. The two side view mirror chrome shows signs of their 65 year age but the mirror part is fine. The car is straight & not a rust bucket in any regard. The floor pans are not rusted out anywhere. The driver side rear quarter window should have new rubber installed. The passenger side front window is acceptable as is but is slightly flawed at the bottom. The radio does not work but it does have a nice tape deck in the glove box. It also has a CB radio neatly placed under the dash. It has an updated ignition. The car has a new six volt battery with a converter to work the 12 volt items. This car even has cruise control. It has a nice looking dash with like new looking gauges. There is one new tire and three other mounted tires have about 14, 000 miles on them. have lots of tread life in them. Synthetic 5/50 motor oil has been the lubrication of choice. It has 50-60 pounds of oil pressure. The engine dual exhaust does not smoke and the pipes -mufflers are in good shape.. The radiator & hoses are fine. All the gauges work . You will enjoy driving this fine old very dependable Mercury that can be driven to a new home! The car is currently registered and mechanically sound so it can be driven home if you prefer. International buyers are welcome but will need to make their own transport arrangements. Payment is expected by bank to bank wire transfer unless arrangements are made with the owner prior to end of auction. The car is available for inspection by appointment.
