Vehicle Detail
This is an opportunity to purchase a very rare numbers matching 1984 Z28 that is equipped with a 5.0 Liter H.O. engine, a 5-Speed manual transmission, and T-Tops with only 28,000 original miles. The car is loaded from the factory with factory with both luxury and performance options including the H.O. engine, 5-speed transmission, Posi rear axle, 4-wheel disc brakes, T-Tops, air-conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power hatch release, power seat, rear de-fogger, cruise control, tile steering column, roof console, and more. The car is almost entirely original with the exception of one re-paint in the original color of black. The car was recently stripped and finished in a base coat – clear coat system, and all of the emblems, stripes, and weather-stripping were replaced. The wheels were also professionally restored at that time. The car looks absolutely beautiful. Recent maintenance includes new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, complete tune-up, complete new exhaust system, new fluids, new battery, new belts and hoses, and air-conditioner service, new brakes, and new brake calipers, and a new starter. The notoriously problematic computer controlled carburetor and distributor were replaced with a new stock Quadrajet carburetor and a new HEI distributor. The original carburetor and distributor were retained. The original radio was replaced with a Sony AM-FM-CD. Anything that didn’t work properly was repaired or replaced. Even the zipper in the original T-Top bag was replaced. The car looks beautiful and it runs and drives perfectly. Everything works properly including the air-conditioning. There is no rust on the undercarriage. The only parts of the car show signs of wear are the seats. The H.O. engine (L69 code), which was only offered in 1983 and 1984, was a rare option, especially when equipped with the 5-speed transmission. The L69 included flat topped pistons, a 9.5:1 compression ratio instead of 8.6:1, a better camshaft, two air intake snorkels, a wider exhaust system, the wider catalytic converter from the Corvette, and richer secondary metering rods. Road & Track selected the 1984 Camaro as 1 of the 12 best cars in the world, and it won Best in the Sports GT category in the $11,000 to $14,000 range. Car and Driver selected the 1984 Camaro Z28 as the Best Handling Car built in the United States. I have clear title in my name and the sale of the car includes an original factory Sales Brochure, and the original Owners Manual. The car is available for inspection. Please call 516-524-4102.
