A 3 door US model Geo Metro LSI that is beautiful, has a 5 speed transmission and has cold A/C… Unheard of right?! I know if you follow my auctions you will be surprised to see this Metro among the vintage Porsches and other European classics. I will let you in on a little secret.. I drive Metros daily. They are my official company vehicles and whenever me or the guys in the shop go anywhere, this is what we drive. Why?? How about mileage and costs? There is no other car that has ever been built in the modern age that is as simple and as economical as a Geo/Chevrolet Metro. This particular car has seen 58 MPG on highway trips. Simple, easy, cheap, economical, and very reliable too. Anybody could fix it anywhere, but they rarely break. In the July 2009 issue of Car and Driver, they included a base model 1998 Chevrolet Metro 3-door hatchback among vehicles tested for fuel efficiency alongside two hybrid models: the redesigned Honda Insight and Toyota Prius models. Car and Driver jokingly ridiculed the Metro's age and equipment, docking seven points from its overall score for its lack of amenities and mentioning that it was originally sold brand-new without hubcaps. Regardless, the Metro tied the Prius for best overall fuel economy at 42 mpg-US (5.6 l/100 km). I mean that is really saying something right? This little Metro has the all-important Air Conditioning, and stereo and factory rear window defrost and rear wiper. I wouldn’t call it loaded, but for a car like this.. That’s not the point. The point is intelligent cost effective transportation that you never need to worry about. This is a nice example. There is NO RUST.. The suspension arms are all perfect and factory. The windows roll up and down exactly as they should. The paint is factory sprayed and in good condition. There has never been a crash in this car’s history no body repairs either. There are a couple of clear-coat flaws on the hood but nothing unsightly. If you want that repainted let me know.. The estimate was $200.. Just add that to your final price and I will take care of it. The tires are new the interior is spotless. 50 state emissions. You do not need to do a single thing to this car but turn the key and go. Everything works just like it should. I know it sounds funny but people comment on the car all the time.. These cars should still be made, because there is certainly a market with gas prices as high as they are! The Metro is clean and super tight and runs fantastically. These are getting harder to come by as time goes on. This will be a great one to hold on to. Bid with confidence.. I just did brakes all around, It had a new muffler l and the timing belt was done last week. I also just did rear wheel bearings too. This Metro is totally ready to go!
