Vehicle Detail
This 1976 Datsun long bed pick-up is up for auction. I am the 3rd owner and have owned it for about 1-1/2 years. It is very original, never wrecked, still wearing it's original Datsun Olive Green #104 paint and has 76,741 original miles! As evidenced in the pictures, the truck was purchased new at Murray Datsun in Murray, KY. At that time the original purchaser Mr. Atkins of Gleason, TN. had the Datsun dealer install air-conditioning, rear step bumper, special order side mirrors and rear bed topper. The bed topper is no longer with the truck and the A/C needs servicing and does not work. Even the original plastic dealer envelope/folder & salesman card comes with the truck, along with original dealer brochure, owner's manual, service spec. book, warranty pamphlet, keys and jack w/tools. Also has the original spare tire that has never seen the ground! The tires are excellent too with about 7000 miles on them. The original paint still shines well with a nice 38 year old patina. In my opinion, it's too nice & original to re-paint, although it has a few dings & scrapes and one dent on the front passenger's side fender as seen in the picture. The rear bed has some scratches, scrapes & light surface rust but appears to not have ever been used to haul dirt or rock etc. The truck was always garaged kept as I've spoken to both previous owners! The owner before me did some touch-up with the original 1/2 pint can of dealer supplied paint (also included) to the worst areas of the bed and where the topper had rubbed thru. By no means has this truck ever been wrecked or had body repairs. It also has no rust other than slight surface rust as you can see in the pictures. This truck starts, runs & drives great. In May 2012, the 2nd owner had a complete brake job done. All brake hoses, wheel cylinders, brake shoes & master cylinder we're replaced with brand new. He also had the engine completely tuned up; valves adjusted, spark plugs & spark plug wires replaced. New points, condenser & rotor replaced. When I bought the truck the throw-out bearing was noisy. I decided to have it fixed along with new clutch disc, pressure plate, re-surface flywheel, new clutch fork rubber boot, new slave cylinder & hose, and new clutch master. At the same time I had the transmission drained and re-filled with new 80/90 oil/grease and the muffler & tail pipe replaced. It drives & shifts smooth and perfectly quiet! The interior is also very nice with perfect original headliner, visors, AM-FM radio, perfect original vinyl floor mat and all working gauges, lights, signals, dome lamp, horn etc. The vinyl/plastic seat surface was splitting/cracking and I had it re-upholstered about a year ago. The trim shop was having trouble matching the seat material and we decided to go with a cloth/velour style that turned out very nice. I'm selling this truck reluctantly but reasonably with a reserve price of $850.00 less than what I have invested. Thanks for looking and feel free to call Paul @ (502)552-0220 with any questions.
