Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on an amazing restored 1950 Studebaker 2R5 half-ton short bed pickup truck. This truck underwent a thorough 3-year body-off-frame nut-and-bolt restoration 12 years ago and has been driven fewer than 500 miles since. Always stored under cover indoors, the truck still looks like new. t is an amazing time-capsule that generates smiles and thumbs-up everywhere you go. I can't stress how thoroughly the truck has been restored; the former owner spent all the time necessary to find exact factory and reproduction parts to bring this truck back to showroom-new glory; it is new in all respects. Details as follows: -Body removed from frame, interior removed, chassis completely disassembled. Chassis stripped and restored with POR-15 products to as-new condition-Suspension fully rebuilt including king pins, ball joints, springs restored, etc.-Steering fully rebuilt-Brake system fully rebuilt including parking brake-Fuel system completely rebuilt including tank, lines, pump, filter, and carb-Restored original wheels with Coker Wide Whitewall tires and original hubcaps-Emblems and chrome replated/restored-Original 170 CI flathead six engine fully rebuilt-Original 4-speed manual transmission fully rebuilt including new clutch-Original rear end rebuilt and 4.82 axle ratio changed to 4.11 for drivability-New exhaust system as original-Body stripped to bare metal and repainted in correct Bermuda Green original color-Interior fully restored including rebuilt AM tube radio, heater core and controls, dash cluster restored, steering wheel restored, new knobs, levers, emblems, upholstery, headliner, floor mats, optional compass, map lights, horn, etc.-Electrical system completely rebuilt in original 6-volt including new wiring, generator, starter, relays, gauges rebuilt, new sending units, etc.-Under hood fully restored including heater box, manifolds, air cleaner, paint, decals, etc.-Cooling system fully rebuilt including rebuilt original radiator and heater core, new hoses, valves, etc.-Tube AM Rado restored and rebuilt-Gauges rebuilt and restored This truck is loaded with optional equipment including original Fulton sunvisor, Unity fog lamps, Unity Spotlight, Cab Running Lights, fender-top turn signal indicators, interior compass, flashlight mounted on steering column, map light (operates on switch and with doors), AM tube radio, heater, 4-speed trans, and more. I have a copy of the original build sheet from the Studebaker National Museum. This truck was featured in a local hot-rod and classics calendar shoot and can hang with the big-boys in any show. The truck runs perfectly and drives wonderfully. Steering is tight with no play, brakes are as strong as when new, engine runs as smooth as a sewing mating. Original straight-cut 4-speed manual gearbox shifts as well as it did when new; straight-cut gears take a bit of getting used to to shift smoothly. Original clutch pedal starter button and choke get the motor going easily. Carb has been rebuilt too. The paint job was new in 2002 as part of the restoration. The owner did it himself, and while it shows well and was taken to bare metal for a long-lasting job, I wouldn't encourage him to quit his day job to paint professionally. Don't get me wrong; it is a good-looking, sound paint job in original colors. It's just fair to say that everything else has been done to factory as-new standards, and the paint is just a bit behind that. Still very good-looking, but not as perfect as the rest of the truck. If the paint was flawless, I'd be asking mid-$20K's for this truck... it is otherwise as nice as the day it rolled off the showroom floor. You may call me at 360-936-9257 with any questions. Clear title in hand. I will keep the vintage plates unless you are a Washington state buyer. Please be prepared to have payment to me within three business days via Bank of America deposit into my account, Bank of America cashier's check, bank wire transfer, or cash in person. PLEASE, NO ZERO- OR LOW-FEEDBACK BIDDERS WITHOUT CONTACTING ME FIRST. International buyers are welcome as long as they are in a today-ready position to transfer money... I don't want to wait three weeks to get paid. While every effort is being made to describe the truck accurately, it is in fact a 64-year-old classic, and therefor being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer. I will make myself available for loading.
