1979 Honda CR

Lucky barn find. This 1979 CR250R is a low hour model. Internally; the Motor was disassembled to gauge usage. Reeds were in perfect condition. Carburetor slide show absolutely no marks of dirt or even usage. Piston shows no wear. Pipe surface is flawless, and silencer packing is tight. Shifts like you’d expect. Brakes pads are at probably 90% or better. The Rear suspension and forks work well. Externally; the fuel tank still displays the original safety stickers. The seat is original and has no rips. The bike starts first kick hot or cold, sounds new, tight and pulls strong. Steers good considering it has the original tire indicated by the vintage of Bridgestone and no dings of the front rim! Foot pegs show very little wear and are straight. Flaws: There is some paint worn off from riding as pictures show. The tank has a very small nick, the Honda wing decal is crack but it is dent free. The original parts are faded compared to the new parts. The chain was thrown and it shows on the hub. The Forks aluminum finish is faded in spots and the fork boots were torn so therefore removed. Bike has been properly stored indoors in heated storage for many years and not been ridden other than for jetting at 6000ft. No title and sold with a bill of sale only. Pick it up in Gypsum Colorado. Even though this is a 35 year old motorcycle all internal inspection says it wasn’t ridden much! Some things you just can’t hide and this thing is amazingly well preserved. This CR will offer many hours of use or you can easily strip it down and make it a show piece,,, your choice!
