Vehicle Detail
We are parting with our gorgeous 1986 Pontiac Trans Am. This is now considered an Antique/Vintage car as it is over 25 years old. We are only the 2nd family that has owned this car. My family purchased it from someone in our town - they kept it for 5 years and then sold it to our family. We have owned it for the remaining 23 years. This car is a CREAM PUFF ! We have always kept it in the garage - it has never sit outside. We have always only hand washed and waxed this car (we have never ran it through an automatic wash). My dad drove this car and he has since passed. We are looking for its next good home. This Trans Am has EXTREMELY LOW MILES (only 96,492 original miles). We drive this car only on the weekend just to keep driving it (that is why it has such low miles). The color of the car is called Dark Red Metallic and has the gray cloth interior. The car was ordered with every available option at the time except for leather. The car has T-Tops (which have never leaked), it also has the Black Diamond Lace Wheels (an option at the time it was ordered). The car has Kuhmo tires all the way around (will probably need replacing within the next 20K miles or so). In the hatch compartment there is a factory GM vinyl sleeve that holds the lockable T-tops and latches them down for safety. The only things that we know that the car needs is: air conditioner blows but requires freon every summer/every other summer, has the original graphic equalizer radio that either has a short in a wire or the wire is loose in the back (sometimes it plays - sometimes its just static. The power antenna works perfect). The front drivers seat needs to be repaired (a man that used to work for GM told us that an upholstery shop could remove the back pocket from the drives seatback and use that material to patch it as it is the same light gray color), the hydraulic shocks that hold up the hood and the trunk needs replacing (these are approx $20 each from the auto parts store. we just don't have the time or know-how to put them on). The car is really stunning. No cracks on the dashboard as it has always been garaged. We have always only used PREMIUM Unleaded gasoline (Premium is better for the 5.0 liter F.I. V8 engine). You will be hard-pressed to find another 1986 Trans Am in this great of condition. The buyer will be responsible for making shipping arrangements. We are located close to Knoxville, TN with the Greyhound Bus, MegaBus and the Airport within close proximity. Let us know if you would like any additional pics.
