Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1966 AMC Ambassador 990. It was just pulled from my grandpa's barn on 5/25/2014. I strive for a great relationship with all my buyers so I've created a long description in an attempt to accurately detail the car's condition for you. I also took pictures of the body, engine, interior, undercarriage and places where there is rust/damage. Here is the history of the car that I know:It was driven from California to Little Valley, NY in 1977. It was then purchased by my grandpa, he drove it around for a few months and drove it into the barn for winter in 1977 where it sat ever since. It has never been outside in a NY winter The car has 83,143 miles on it. I have the keys and New York State Registration Receipt that my grandpa had which the estate lawyer gave to me. The lawyer says all I need to do is give you the registration and a bill of sale since this car was made before titles were issued. FEATURES: 287 V8 with a Holley 2 Barrel Carb - StuckCalifornia Emissions Kar-Kit is installedPower SteeringNon-Power BrakesManual Windows - Driver Side window does not work correctlyCONDITION:I'll be perfectly clear, this car is not turn-key. It is, however, a car in good restorable condition. I won't lie to you, it needs love and attention before you can drive it down the street. The engine is stuck, I don't know if it is stuck hard. It may come loose, it may need to be rebuilt, or it may need a new engine altogether. The transmission shifted from Park to Neutral to pull it from the barn. I do not know what condition it is in since the engine is stuckThere is a dent on the passenger side rear quarter panel (that is the worst of the body damage) and the trim is starting to come off the passenger side door. The front bumper has a mild bend in it(no creases) and both bumper's chrome is beginning to rust. Bumpers are not rotted through, it is surface rust. The undercarriage is excellent for sitting in a barn, it had some sort of undercoating that protected it. The car still has it's original paint that has lasted very well over the years. The paint is beginning to develop surface rust in spots(see pics), again it does not look like it has rotted through anywhere.Glass is in good shape I saw no cracks or chipsHead lights and tail lights look good, I saw no cracks in themThe gas tank looks to be in good shape aside from a dent on the bottom right sideMuffler looks pretty rustyTires are flat and dry-rottedAll four hubcaps are there and look like they are in good shapeThere is a piece of trim missing from the driver side, it is inside the car. The trim on the front passenger corner has a crack/split in it. The antenna and one wiper arm is missing, the steering wheel chrome is not attached to the wheel and is also inside the car. The spare tire and jack are still in the trunk. The seats and carpet are still there, most likely need to be restored/ reupholstered/replaced. The driver side window does not go up and down properly, I think it's off it's track.Looks like there is a switch missing on the dash on the left side of the steering wheelThere was a large family of mice living in the trunk, I believe they took most of the rear seat fluff and used it for beddingI have tried to get a complete description, please review pics and message me for more pics if you cannot see what you are trying to look at. This is a excellent restoration project as I don't believe you'll be searching for too many parts. I inherited this car from my grandfather a little while ago and I in not at a point in life where I can give this car the attention it needs. I'd like to send it to a good home where it will be taken care of. Please message me if you have any questions or requests for pics of something I don't have in the listing. I will answer any question you have to the best of my ability. If you message me your name, phone number and a good time to call, I'll gladly call you to discuss the car. Located in Great Valley, NY 14741If you live close enough, or want to send someone to inspect the car, I have no problem with you viewing the car during the auction. TERMS: The car is sold as-is with no warranty and no warranty is impliedI accept PayPal deposit, cashier's check, money order, personal check, and cash. If paying by check/money order the car may leave when cleared with my bankBuyer is responsible for arranging their own transportation to haul the car away. I would recommend a flatbed or a trailer with a winch. I'm guessing the car weighs between 3,000 and 4,000 pounds. As long as it's paid for you can leave the car here until you have arranged for transportation. I understand that arranging schedules can take time.EDIT: Not all 24 pictures are showing up on the normal Ebay page. I contacted Ebay Customer Service and they said to clear browser cache by hiting Crtl+Alt+Delete Keys on your keyboard or go to Tools>Delete Browsing History to reach the settings. Message me and I'll send you any pics you want of the car. I apologize for the inconvenience. Also click on the large picture and it will open up all the pictures available that seems to work as well. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!!
