Vehicle Detail
This is a project car but a killer base for a Kustom or Rat Rod! Quick history: I've owned this car since 2000. I drove it for the first year I had it but garaged it as my daily driver then was a 1960 Galaxie. Life got in the way of finishing the swap and I've moved on to a '59 F100. When I bought the shoebox it had a Buick v6 and automatic from a mid 70's Skylark. I bought the 302/C4 combo that's now in it from a family friend. At that time he told me he had rebuilt the top end and that it had 50k miles on it. He painted it, put finned aluminum valve covers, a new Ford intake and Holley 4barrel carb on it. The motor/tranny sat in my garage for years and finally got installed about 6 months ago using a kit from Butch's Rod Shop. I didn't need to alter tranny hump as it was widened a bit before me when the Buick drivetrain went in. I put the lakes pipes on it for looks. They are connected. All electric worked when I drove it. It's been altered by a previous owner. Probably when motor swap happened. EXTERIOR Body mods were done at least 2 owners back. They moulded the bumpers in, frenched, nosed and put chrome steel slots on it for a 60's look. It has wind splits on rear from a '51. Taillight bezels are custom and are flat red lexan. All other trim is removed and holes filled. Tires are Firestone bias ply 670/15 wide whites. There were on it when I got it. Some dryrot but holding air fine. When the front bumper was moulded in they DID NOT brace it, don't know why. As a result, there is a little, I mean little, pucker in both front fenders where someone bumped into me at work many moon ago. NO CREASE but paint flaked and surface rust is there. Body has been filled as part of mods. There is some cracking but it has widened or changed since I've owned it. Paint is still very shiny but it's a basic paint job. Some evidence of older color showing in a few spots but overall this car look real good- a killer 20 footer! No rust through on body is showing! All glass there. Passenger rear window glass is cracked. Windows were poorly tinted way before me and some fogging is evident in original glass. All vent windows are in tact. Windshield and back glass are good. Hood and trunk lid in very good condition. Grill is all there and bright with a few dings. Driver side turn signal bezel a little damaged. Lowering blocks in rear. Front suspension is stock. Brakes will need to be fully checked out of course. INTERIOR All original interior except headliner which looks modern. It has a little puckering but should tighten up fine- no rips. Dash is all there but was cut for an 80's cassette deck when I got it. Radio is gone but hole isn't. Original seats were painted/dyed black before me. Driver side is torn. Carpet is black repop with blanket (?) for padding. Servicable. Floors were patched before me. Door panels were changed before me to black vinyl with padding. Original window cranks, door levers and b pillar interior light bezels. Truck floor is very good. Two small rust throughs in spare wheel well. Original steering wheel has had repairs. Original horn ring and button are there. EXTRAS I've got a pair of repop steel 3 ribbed skirts still in primer from Big Jim's that will go with sale. Never installed. Mooneyes bullet style taillight lenses still in package. Extra interior cranks, pulls and light bezels. BUY IT NOW will also include a full set of driver quality Cadillac sombrero hubcaps, I believe they are from a '56, as well as a 1949 Buick Roadmaster front bumper in driver condition. A great fit for this car! A long weekend by a good wrench and you're cruising. PayPal deposit of $500.00 within 24 hours of winning bid. Balance via PayPal or cash in person. Balance and pickup within 7 days. Shipping arrangements to be made by buyer. On Jun-28-14 at 15:54:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Revision: I caught a typo- the lakes pipes are NOT connected. Also for clarity, the motor is stuck from condensation not immersion or direct contact with rain or any mechanical abuse.
