This is a solid factory highboy that was used but not abused. The truck is mostly original, straight body and very litte rust. It runs excellent and has the V8 with automatic transmission. This is a great ford to drive as is but a perfect candidate for an easy restoration. It's not perfect but looks good and is affordable and looks better than most you'll see on the road. I HAVE MANY MORE PICS I CAN SEND TO YOU IN A LINK. EBAY DOESN'T ALLOW PHOTBUCKET LINKS NOW. I ALSO HAVE A VIDEO OF IT RUNNING. MECHANICAL The truck runs great. The motor is most likely the original engine. I can try to check the numbers if you'd like, but just from what I see it is all original. It has the 360 V8 with 2-barrel carb. It does not smoke at all. Runs smooth and cool. No water in the oil or anything like that. It has no knocks or ticks. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to change all the fluids and do plugs/wires/cap/rotor and the other usual tuneup stuff. I don't know that it needs any of those things, but I don't know the last time they were done. Starts up every time. The rear main seal does leak and will need to be fixed. This is easy in a truck like this and the oil pan is easy to remove without jacking the engine up or anything like that. The truck has a dual exhaust system with new glasspacks. It sounds good but has a few leaks that need to be fixed. The Automatic transmission works fine. This has powersteering and brakes. No a/c. Rearend is a dana 60 posi. I've jacked it up and tested it, but the axle code verifies that also. The ford drives really nice down the road. I was surprised considering the tires I had on it when driving it were not good. It didn't wander, pull, vibrate or anything like that. Brakes work fine. Headlights, heater, wipers, turnsignals, etc. still work. This has a cd player and I never tried it. Speedometer works and all other gauges. Exhaust is newer. Steel wheels and tires in the pics are not included. I borrowed them from another truck for the pics. It comes with 16.5 slot mags and tires that are not good but drive good and hold air. 4x4 works but I didn't drive it on the highway in 4wd so it probably wouldn't hurt to check u-joints. No clunking or anthing though. The drivetrain is very solid and really only needs the rear main fixed to be a driver. You could drive it everyday now though but it leaves a little 3-4" puddle overnight. BODY The body is very straight and has very little rust. The only rust spots are: minor floorpan rust on drivers side. Somewhat easy patch without having to do the whole pan. It's just on the outer edge. Rockers are fine. The other spot is the passenger side cab corner. It's not bad, but will need to be done. Cab mounts, floor supports, box, roof, hood, doors, etc. etc. are in nice shape. No bondo that I can see on the truck except a little where it looks like the tailgate had work done at some point. The rest of the paint looks original. The passenger grille is broken but these are readily available new. The body is very straight for the most part but one door has a little dent. Tailgate has a dent. The truck needs door seals and a new back window to tighten it up a little. Besides that it is tight and not a rattle trap. It feels solid when you drive it. The paint looks original and has many defects, scratches, etc. and is faded under the gas cap. It still looks pretty good though for an old for. INTERIOR The interior is in usable condition but has the usual wear of an un-restored pickup this old. The seat is the original under the seat cover. Dash and door panels were painted black at some point. Carpet is newer but was a cheaper one and not great. Some pictures show an aftermarket steering wheel which has been replaced with an original style. The interior is usable, but these are easy to restore and parts are readily available. Nice headliner is included but not mounted. If I get time I'll put it in, or just put it in the cab for transportation. Seat cover is new. OVERALL This truck is in good shape and I know they don't come along very often this solid. I'd drive it as-is but it is definitely a good one to restore also. I can tell that it was not hammered. I believe the gentleman I bought it from was the second owner. Thanks and happy bidding. This truck is 38 years old and sold as-is.
