THANKS. 1956 CHEVROLET 2-DOOR STATION WAGON: SOLID BODY, LITTLE RUST. This car decodes as a 150 wagon, but has what looks to be holes in the side for 210 side trim. I am not an expert on these cars but I am 100% confident that the VIN tag has not been modified or ever removed. It has the original welds that hold it on and putting one back on to look this original would be very difficult. Maybe the car was ordered with the swooping trim or maybe several 150's came with it. I'm not sure. This would be a great car for a rod project or gasser or rat drag car. It does have a solid body with little rust overall. Clear title. Here are the details. MANY more pics available, including undercarriage and floors from underneath. I can send the link. DRIVETRAIN This wagon has no engine or transmission. According to the VIN, it was an original V8 car. It rolls and steers. Brakes don't work. Weld wheels in pics are not included. It comes with stock type rollers that hold air. BODY The body is solid for a project, and better than many '55-'57 projects you'll see. It does have a couple spots of rust that I will detail though. The hood, front fenders, frame, cowl, firewall, header, roof, pillars, have no rust. Doors are nearly rust free and straight but drivers has pinhole type rust in lower outer skin and will need a small patch. Jams are good. Small rust spot on drivers side under where the sill plate would be. It is a fairly easy patch. The majority of the floors are nice but have a couple (2-3) small spots where they need butt weld patches. Somebody put tar paper on the top but you can see them from underneath also. Rockers are solid but I had one butt weld done on it. Front fender on passenger side had the same thing (butt weld patch). Both quarters are pretty nice and were mostly sanded bare. Wheel lip is perfect on both, inside and out. Wheelhouses are nice. Drivers quarter had pinhole rust in flat area in front of wheel. They were welded but a patch would have been better and it's an easy spot to do. Tailgate is rough but fixable if you can't find another. Jam has some rust on bottom like most do. It's not too bad but would need repaired if your doing a good restoration. Drivers rear window has a small rust spot by it. It's a fairly easy repair for a bodyman, but window should be removed. The only bondo spots on the car that are thicker than 1/8" are one spot on the roof and one on the quarter, right behind the door on the passenger side. I left most of the other filler spots on it because a person may want to re-utilize the filler for a drag/rat car. A nice resto should have it sanded out and repaired properly. The car has no signs of any major collision damage. The two dents with the 1/4" filler are spots that were just not pulled out properly before repair. Tailgate does have heavy filler though and large dent. Side rear flat glass is included and an extra is included also. Window mouldings are included. Windshield is cracked but usable for a rat/drag car. No rust in roof or driprails. Cargo floor/area is clean and spare tire tub is nice also. All doors and hood open/close as they should. INTERIOR The original front seat is gone. 1967 firebird buckets are in it now. Rear seat is original style but not original to this car. No carpet. No headliner but rods etc. are there. Window mouldings are included. OVERALL You could do an original style restoration on this car but it would probably be better suited for a rod, rat, drag, or gasser clone. I've seen people start tri-five projects that are way rougher than this car and turn them into show cars so it does have potential to do whatever you want. These 2-doors look great fixed up and are a nice affordable option to a nomad. On May-12-14 at 05:28:04 PDT, seller added the following information: This car has multiple rust spots, is a project and is sold as-is. It is not a driver.
