Vehicle Detail
A beautiful 1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe. This car is 1 family owned with a very low 53000 miles. The woman of the house bought this car brand new and babied it until she moved to assisted living and could not take the car with her. The chevy went through a restoration years ago that included new paint, a rebuilt engine and the interior was freshened with new carpet and period correct upholstery. The car runs and drives very nicely with a smooth, quiet ride. There are no rattles or shakes. The engine starts every time, the electricals all work, including headlights, turn signals, gauges, heater and interior lights. There is no radio and it still has the original radio delete plate. In those days talking to your passengers was more important than a radio. The car is not missing any parts, all of the trim is there, the jack and spare tire are all there including the tie downs and trunk mat. The interior is very clean and well preserved. The dash is in excellent condition and the steering looks amazing like it was hardly touched. I bet there were driving gloves involved here. And yes the horn works. Emergency brake works too. The wipers are vacuum and work as they should. The car passes MA inspection with no problem. The paint although nice and shiny is driver quality. There are paint chips around the trim and a couple of dings. There is also a scratch in the lower right front fender shown in the pictures. Most of the chrome and stainless are very nice except the door handles and hood ornament have some pits. The bumpers appear to be new or re-chromed. The left rear quarter has some small bubbles after 10 or 15 years. The original color was dark gray. It is now a teal blue, her favorite color. The bottom is also very clean and original with no rust showing and a thin layer of black undercoating to keep it nice. The Chevy is a joy to drive and very striking to see. Everyone wants to talk about it, take pictures or give you thumbs up. It is a car you can drive anywhere, have some fun and then get in and drive back without any worries. The engine has had a full tune up including, wires, plugs, coil, condenser, points and distributor cap. There are a couple of oil drips, it could use a side cover plate gasket but it is not enough worry too much about. I am selling this one to finish my 1950 Bel Air which I have never driven. I hope it runs as nice as this one. We hate to see this one go.On Jun-11-14 at 15:54:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some pictures of the bottom as I had a couple of requests. As shown, the frame and bottom are nice, the inner rockers show well too. Under the trunk mat looks good, it even has the factory fillers still there in the indents under the mat to keep the mat smooth.
