Vehicle Detail

Hello, What you are looking at here today is a really nice, original, 1963 Dodge Polara Convertible. I'll bet you cannot remember seeing one of these in person. I have a large factory in the Atlanta area where we build handicap vans and my sons pretty much run the company which leaves dad to play with his 45 year collection of mostly British cars (Jaguar, Daimler, Alvis etc.). The reason I have this 63 Dodge is that when my wife of 46 years and I were dating, I had a 63 Dodge Polara convertible. (You know, we are all susceptible to nostalgia). I traded my car for a 1960 MGA in 1967 and I have never had another American car, but...over the past 45 years or so, and in all my travels and attendances at numerous collector car auctions, I never ever ran across one of these 63 Dodge Polara convertilbes....They are just that rare. So I had to have one. This is a super car. Equipped with the bullet proof 318 V8 and the push button torgue flite automatic trans and power steering. This particular car has lead a charmed life, always garaged and loved, never restored but preserved. For many years it lived in a heated garage among a large private collection of Mopar cars. When I got it we installed new gas tank and sending unit, new adjustable shocks, carb, wires and brakes. The car runs and drives great and I am truthful when I say, " I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country today". The cheesy, shrunken American vinyl top has been replaced with a custom, black german cloth top and new back window. Power top mechanism works perfectly. In fact all gauges and lights work including turn signals. The original radio hums but does not pick up any stations. After getting the car back to drivable again, the only thing that bothered me was the looks of those tiny 14inch wheels sitting way back up under the car so I had a custom set of 18 inch wheels, trim rings and baby moon caps, finished in satin black, built for the car. These took 2 months and were built by Mobsteel in Detroit. Now mounted with new Michelin radials, this car drives better than you can imagine. (I have the original hubcaps). This car comes with it's original owners manual, sales brochure, sales invoice ($3112.11 with tax) and many photos and receipts from over the years. The body is really nice, no rust and it has had no paint work or body repair in at least the last 20 years and I see no indication of any repair. All glass is good and windows operate. The interior is all original and nice except the front seat has been recovered many years ago. The car really needs nothing. If you look at my feed back and my private website with my cars EUROCARGUY .com, I think you will see that I do not scrimp on my cars and only have the best examples. This car is definitely "that kind of car". My problem is that I only have so much space for my collection and I am full so a couple have to go on the new homes. If you are a MOPAR guy, please do yourself a favor and see this car....believe me, you will be a happy owner with virtually no additional work to do....just love it, like it been loved for all these 51 years. Thanks for looking and good luck... Bob
