Vehicle Detail

This car has a blown engine. The engine does run but there is a rod knocking and it must be assumed the engine is ruined. The car was run with insufficient oil. This car is meant for a mechanic or someone who has the skills to do an engine swap or rebuild. Everything was working perfectly on this car until our son let the oil get low and ruined the engine. The paint is good for a car this age, the top is about a year old and in perfect condition, all the electronics work, in short it was a nice little car and a daily driver. Even the tires have a lot of tread. The car will run long enough to get it on and off a trailer or transport but the engine is not long for this world. The interior is clean and the leather is in good shape with no rips or tears. The back seat has a stain that I cannot get out. It was a replacement seat I purchased on ebay when the original ripped and was not worth fixing. Since I have owned it the leather has been conditioned and it really perked up and has held up well. There is a slow a/c coolant leak that I have not traced but when charged it blows cold. One of the top actuation hydraulic cylinders (driver's side) is broken. If you want the automatic top to work I suggest buying only a new cylinder as I have put three used ones in this car and they all failed in fairly short order. The passenger side cylinder is new and has yet to fail. I have been activating the top by hand and it is simple and easy making it hard to justify the $140.00 for a new hydraulic cylinder. The pump is fine and it is a five minute job to put a new cylinder in with one or two tools. The sound system is quite good with all the speakers working. There are bumps and bruises on the car but the pictures pretty well represent the overall look. This was a great little car, but like many of these cars the valve seals harden up and you lose a little oil from them. We didn't keep our eye on it and paid the price. The car has not been smoked in and is otherwise a respectable little car if you can get the engine problem sorted out. The engines are readily available and this one went well over 100,000 miles before bad maintenance did it in. There is no reserve on the car. I either sell it here or call my friend who owns a junkyard and get his best deal to put toward my son's latest car. (Don't worry. This kid will never neglect a car again. Even an old Sebring is cooler than walking to school.)
