This is a rare 1998 Ford Ranger EV. The Ford Ranger EV (Electric Vehicle) is a battery electric vehicle produced by Ford Motor Company. It was produced starting in the 1998 model year through 2002 and is no longer in production. Approximately 1,500 vehicles were ever produced and all but a few hundred were recalled and crushed in 2003-4. There are no exact figures, but it is believed that there are less than 200 vehicles left total of all production years. This is a first year production vehicle and has characteristics not seen in the 1999 and later vehicles. I bought this vehicle with the intention of making it my daily driver. The battery pack has been converted to be used for 12 volt batteries using the resistor spoof but the pack is depleted and it currently has a range of less than ten miles. An additional family member has refocused my priorities and now I need to sell. The truck spent most of it's life indoors and is in great shape for it's age. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping but I will help as much as I can. The Ford Ranger EV has an active and knowledgeable online community.
