Offered at auction is a 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with 351-2V engine, auto trans originally painted in Bright Lime with white interior. No question this is one ugly Mustang but without a doubt it is a solid foundation to restore or modify and return to it's former glory. Rescued after sitting in a southern California storage yard for over 20yrs it is in surprisingly good shape. The Mustang is located in the Temecula, California area and can be viewed in person by appointment. Known good stuff: One of only 27,675 Mach 1 Mustangs made in 1972. Rare factory color Bright Lime perfect for a period correct retro look. Original California emissions regulations car (sold new in California). Inner body structure, floors and undercarriage are straight and rust free (yes there is some surface rust). Still retains the factory fitted front poly urethane spoiler bumper. Engine starts (yes it will need some work to get it running well). Dash electronics work (ignition switch, shifter interlock). Looks to be mostly original and complete under the hood and underside (still has original factory muffler). Speedometer shows 28,031 miles which has most likely rolled over once. Known not so good stuff: Right fender is very rough. Right door has been replaced (Note: this door is not completely closed in photos. It works fine but will require fitting work with fender). Left 1/4 panel has some minor sheet metal damage and a few rust through spots. Right 1/4 panel has a few rust through spots. Back panel above tail lamps has a few rust spots. Right side exhaust manifold is broken near the flange. Fuel tank is pushed in (too much love from a floor jack?). The title was misplaced long ago so this sale will be a "Bill of Sale" only.
