Vehicle Detail
Purchased car from the second owner in May 2006 in Southern California where the car had been since new. It had recently been repainted in the original color and a new vinyl top installed. The mileage at purchase was 41,403. In 2007, the engine was completely rebuilt: new pistons, rings, bearings, camshaft, rocker arms, starter, water and oil pumps, carburetor, and more. Since then, the car has been driven less than 2,000 miles and happily runs on unleaded fuel. Also in 2007, the brake system, power steering and front suspension were professionally rebuilt and power brakes added. The dash, carpet, and instrument panel were replaced with correct but new or newer items. Steering wheel is original and has no cracks! Seats are also original and in very good condition. Just recently, the exhaust system was replaced and dual exhausts added. The mechanic installing the new exhaust system also inspected the undercarriage and told me he found no rust. This GT/CS has the original Marchal fog lights, the correct grille, hood fasteners, side scoops, striping and trunk lid. The original AM radio works and can be tuned by the buttons. Cigarette lighter may work but I haven't tried it. Included with the car are the original owner's manual, the Marti report and an extra set of hubcaps of the type originally installed. Since purchase, this Mustang has been stored indoors and driven regularly but a for total of less than 3,000 miles in the last 8 years. It gets "thumbs up" from other drivers each time I take it out and has won first place in its class at a Mustang show. I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere and will be sad to see it sold. Unfortunately we are about to move far from CA and would like it to remain close to its home, even if we can't.
