Vehicle Detail
1957 Volkswagon Beetle A One Owner Car! This car was purchased new in Fort Wayne Indiana in 1957. I had the dealer undercoat and install a Motorola AM radio before delivery. The only alterations from factory new are as follows: 1. A windup clock was installed in glove compartment door 2. Two red lights were installed on dash, one lights up if the parking brake is left on and the other lights up if the fuel reserve valve is on. 3. Installed four gauges, Fuel Quantity, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature and Ammeter. Otherwise the car was restored to its original materials and colors. The car comes with the original spare tire. The car was driven 124,183 miles before being retired. Following is a list of the restorations that have made on the car: Repaired rust on lower section of rear quarter panels. Due to undercoating at purchase no rust on floor pan. Sand blasted and Epoxy coated top and bottom of floor pan Striped and repainted entire car inside and out Installed new carpet, floor mats and head liner Re-upholstered seats, door and side panels New trunk liner and wiring cover in trunk New running boards installed New Windshield installed All new door, window and rubber parts replaced All chrome and aluminum trim replaced New bumpers and hubcaps installed New front and rear wheel bearings installed Brake drums turned New Brake shoes, wheel cylinders, brake lines, hoses and master cylinder installed Engine Overhauled to new standards (36 H.P.) Only 25 miles on rebuilt engine New tires New Battery Rebuilt Starter installed New Shock Absorbers New Muffler Rebuilt Generator Everything in the car is in working order with the exception of the wind-up clock and the left turn signal which stopped working recently and I haven’t had a chance to fix yet. This is a really great car that has been meticulously restored with great attention to every detail. You won't be disappointed with this car! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Vehicle is currently in Elgin, Nebraska.
