Vehicle Detail

Original Authentic 1972 442 W30 I have decided to sell my 1972 442 W30. This is the real deal. It is a beautiful ‘no apologies” fully original and numbers matching car. It was an Arizona car that I bought in 2006. I had the car fully inspected before I bought it and the inspector verified that it was numbers matching. I tried to do it myself but, frankly, I could not tell what I was looking at (you have to be a contortionist to see them). The mileage says 14,500 but I have no way of knowing whether it is accurate. This is not a “frame-off” but it is a beautifully restored one that has been garaged that has been well cared for. It starts up immediately and growls like it should. No smoke. No dings, dents, or scratches. Chrome is very nice. I have put about 600 miles on the car over the past 8 years. Here is what I have done to the car over the past six years: New tires (less than 200 miles on them) New master cylinder (last year) Front and rear brakes Shocks all around New springs New valve seals (18 months ago) Transmission completely rebuilt (upon purchase). Solid and tight. I had the internals replaced because I thought it did not shift as a muscle car should. AAMCO preserved the original transmission casing which, of course, is on the car.New oil and completely tuned The interior is original. The seats, carpets and interior look great. In the pics the front seat bottom has a button missing. I have the button and it has been put back on. There is a seam (about ¾”) on the rear bench that separated and should be resewn. The car came with an am radio. It does not work, but I have an extra working AM and an extra working AM/FM radio. I never installed either one. You can have your choice of either. It has power steering and power brakes. It is royal blue with beautiful white vinyl roof. Other than that this car has all the power that an authentic 442 W30 should have. People who do not know 1972 W30’s ask about red fenders. Only the 70 and 71 W30’s had red fenders. The 72 never had red fenders. If you see a 1972 W30 with red fenders they have been replaced. The nice thing about the 1972 version of the W30 is that you cannot clone them and you do not need a “broadcast sheet”. The one for this car is probably under the back seat somewhere. The reason you do not need the “broadcast sheet” or sticker is the VIN was “X” coded. In 1972 Oldsmobile placed an “X in the VIN number to designate an authentic W30. I have provided a description that I believe to be accurate but you are welcome to inspect or have the car inspected to satisfy yourself as to what you are buying. This car is sold as-is where-is with no warranties intended or implied. If you are one of these guys who wants a 100 point trailer queen this car is not for you. If you want an original authentic W30 that looks and runs as it should, this is your car. It is a steal at $25,000 or best offer. Please feel free to call me at 508-944-5237.
