Vehicle Detail

One of the cleanest most original survivor bikes left on the planet. 98-99% original, 6/72 is what the neck tag reads, so as far as Im concerned its a 72, but it IS registered a 1973. I believe it was a typo from day one, and a trip to dmv or chp to have the date verified would easilt change the year to 1972 as it states it is. I heard in Japan the cut off date is in june, and this IS dated in June, so not sure if its literally "a day" or something off somehow? But here in the USA Sept or after is considered late for that year and makes it the following year, not exactly HALFWAY into the year!! Clean CA title and The only thing it needs is tires and fork boots, oh and the seat has a small tear that needs a good upholstery guy to fix it.. Has one small ding in tank cant hardly see it(on LH side in the black painted area towards top/rear, it can be seen in one of the side shots) Only the LH blinker has a small isuue. You have to hold it over to the left to keep it blinking, other than that EVERY SINGLE THING on this bike works as factory. All wiring is perfect, frame, drivetrain all excellent. Brakes are excellent aswell. Every lever, switch, light, horn, lens, cover, nut/bolt is absolutely factory and in excellent condition!! Seat has usuall split, but foam is excellent. Bike was only stored in doors. Has orignal fuses and holder under seat. Original owner misplaced tool kit, so its got a replacement tool kit. Original perfect cond owners manual (notice its also dated 1972)has documentation of all services done and chains and tires from May of 1980 with 20K miles, all the way upto 1988 with 34K miles!! And the bike now has just 37,400K miles!!! So documented for most of its life just about. My pictures actually make it look very bland and sort of "faded" , but believe me this bike is beautiful in person and it IS ALL THAT!! In one pic it looks like the LH side of the tank at the rear has a bunch of white scratches or scuffs, but again its my pics. If you look at a different shot of the same area you see its got nothing there. Runs excellent, rode it today and 8-9K rpm shifts are no problem and it LOVES IT!! Just put new battery, oil change, filter clean, and pulled carbs and cleaned and tuned and rebuilt them. RUNS PERFECT. Tank looks new inside, not a SPEC of rust or anything anywhere. ALL the chrome on this bike is absolutely PERFECT, there isnt a single SPEC of rust or pitting or anything remotely resembling rust or corrosion. And for all the original chrome from 44 years ago to still look this nice, that can only mean it was stored properly all its life. Both fenders and plastics are excellent, side covers are BOTH perfect and all tabs for them are excellent, none are broken and they have been always kept lubed up so they pop on and off as they should without breaking!! Bars are perfect, never bent, I think they may even be the original grips too! Gas cap is perfect, Tank has usuall "top green fade", but all the trim is excellent. The LH "honda" emblem on the tank does have what looks like a little scratched area where it may have been rubbed up against something possibly, but its extremely minor. But its waxed and buffed nicely and kept nice. All the side covers are excellent, no dents or scratches from being laid down. As far as I can tell its not been wrecked, although it may have possibly been tipped over? But the only signs of ANY sort of scraping or scratches is on the exhaust pipes in the rear and only very small area. So if these did come off a different bike they may have already been there? cause this bike just has no evidence of ever being wrecked or laid down. If this bike were pulled apart and detailed it would literally look brand new again!!. It almost does now!! Local pickup or I can POSSIBLY take to be shipped if paid to do so. One of the nicest survivors left out there i guarantee you. Doesnt smoke, wasnt abused and I know the original owner, and second owner. Im third owner but 2nd owner is a friend whos owned it longest. Nice bike dont let this one get away, cause you just dont find them all original like this anymore unless its in a collection or museum. I guarntee that 99% of this bikes original nuts/bolts and equiptment is factory original!!
