Vehicle Detail

“Barn find” is something any car enthusiast likes to hear, so maybe this is in that category. I am selling a 1973 Corvette Stingray that was stored in a garage since 1989. Last summer is when I acquired the car from what I believe to be the 3rd owner. She told me how her boyfriend back in the eighties had built this crazy 427 motor in it, which I have since sold and replaced with a 1968 327 that is worked with headers. Motor: As stated prior, I had this motor in my 68’ Corvette but a friend only wanted the car to build an L88 clone and I kept the engine. The motor didn’t smoke and it has to have over 400 horses in it. The headers were blasted and painted, as was the intake. The alternator is brand new and so is the aluminum waterpump, valve covers, fan, and fuel pump. The Edelbrock carburetor is brand new. It has Accel high-spark plugs and wires. The radiator was professionally hot-tanked, pressure tested and painted. Finally, it has a brand new clutch. Suspension & Brakes: The car has brand new calipers, pads, master cylinder and lines from Muskegon Brakes. I purchased crossed-drilled & slotted rotors which are also installed. The factory AZ 15 x 8 rims are mounted on BFGoodrich T/A radials that are not dry-rotted or flat-spotted. The rims were media-blasted and painted. Finally, a mono-spring was added to this car by the previous owner. Body: The car was originally Metallic Orange, but a previous owner painted it gray. The body is very straight, with one small crack in the front passenger fender lip as seen in the pictures. The remainder of the body is in great shape, without crazing or stress cracks near the nose bar as most have on them. The birdcage is perfect, as is the lower window frame channels. The underside of the car is also nice, as it has been inside and away from the elements that rust these cars out. New battery cables were installed and properly run within the transmission tunnel. New headlights and springs were done last month, and the front grills were painted. New front bumper was purchased from the Indiana shop that holds the patent for Flex-fit bumpers. The Dupont paint was shot by a local body shop and is as close a match to the current color. I mounted it with four bumper bolts for picture-sake but it needs to be aligned. I have noticed a spot under the driver-side floor-pan edge where they ran a line of resin and glass (see picture). And I am missing the radio antennae cable but have the antennae itself. Obviously the L88 hood is aftermarket and does not have a functional airbox. Interior: the dark saddle interior is very clean. There are no tears in the dash pad and the seats are in super shape. The speedometer and tachometer look brand new. I have all the pieces needed to complete the inside, but the side radio panels need to be dyed. T-top bags are also included with the car. There is no radio, just a radio-delete plate covering an unmolested area. Details: Manual 4-speed transmission (1971 wide-ratio)Rear is 3:36 Manual SteeringManual BrakesManual WindowsNo A/C I had no intention of selling this Corvette, but with 3 kids and hockey tuition at $3000 for the upcoming season, the money has to come from somewhere. This is not the first time I had to sell a car for the family, but my loss is your gain. There are thousands invested in this car! Take a week and throw this on a lift and finish it up. The car needs timing, the front yoke of the driveshaft reconnected, and the shifter linkage adjusted. No hidden problems with this car, as I want the buyer to be getting what is advertised. Look at my sales and positive feedback, because I am honest and trustworthy. There are many Corvettes online, but I believe this would be your best dollar spent. If the car surpasses $7200, I will include a brand new gas tank (unopened), sending unit, and strap kit from Corvette America. And if you would prefer to have the original white pin-striped tires mounted on a set of original AZ rims, you can make that swap within the deal (as seen in the pictures). Please email with any questions that would make this sale.
