Vehicle Detail
2007 BMW K1200GT, very adult owned (65 years old, riding 50 years). I’m the second owner, bought with 2,700 miles, now 13,694. You will not find another bike like this one. This bike screams with a high performance air cleaner and Two Brothers exhaust that distinguishes it from any other K1200 out there. The exhaust note is amazing. If, however, you gravitate to the more mundane, or your neighbor hates bikes and owns a gun, a like-new original exhaust is also included. The bike also has a kevlar dash panel and tank protector. When BMW designed the K1200GT, it created a bizarrely fast, phenomenally powerful and exotically sophisticated cross-country traveler with lousy ergonomics. I’ve adjusted the riding position with bar backs to move the handlebars slightly up and back to reduce reach, a selection of two driver’s seats (both heated) (both included) provide four seating positions, one of which is ultra low, and lowered pegs and controls. You now have the flexibility of adjusting any of this to conform to your physical measurements. The substantial turbulence that makes its way around the bottom of the windshield is reduced by clear Wunderlich fairing panels. Also quickly removable. The standard windshield is sufficiently protective for anyone to hide behind. A lower sport windshield makes the hottest summer days wonderful. Additional extras include ESA, tank bag, kickstand foot, tire pressure monitor, show lights, helmet locks, extra accessory outlet on dash, battery charger pigtail, and Deals Gap reflective dragons. Tires have 1,000 miles on them since new. There are three minor scars on the bike. The left fairing panel has a hard-to-find small scrape, and a slight stress indent by one of the screw holes (maybe from over-tightening). The left bag lid has a scrape at the top where the retaining strap slipped off when opened while the bike was on the side stand, and the top edge contacted the pavement. A professional repaint of the bag and fairing side is $250, so if you want perfection, consider that in your bid. The scars are clearly shown in the pictures. Other than that, its meticulous. All servicing performed by local BMW. Want the Full Monte? A once-used Givi 55L trunk, a year old Garmin Zumo 660 with mount, 2 Shoei full-face helmets with blue-tooth Scala Rider intercoms, and a separate Schuberth-Cardo SRC helmet-collar-style bluetooth are all available as options and/or separate purchases and are NOT INCLUDED WITH THE BIKE AT THE AUCTION PRICE. Even with its ergonomic flaws it was still the best bike I ever owned. Until I bought my K1600GTL. Reserve well below book value. This bike is ready to go cross-country. Fly in from anywhere and drive home in luxury. If you’re not happy when you see it I refund any deposit.
