Vehicle Detail

1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible. Factory Equipped with a 350 Two Barrel 265 HP Engine, Power-glide Automatic Transmission, 10 Bolt Rear-End, Power Steering, Factory Rally II Wheels, Bucket Seats, Console, Rally Gauges, Clock, Gold Deluxe Interior, Power Convertible Top, Tinted Windshield, Radio and More! The car shows 80K miles. Since this car is over 10 years old we are selling the car “Mileage Exempt” for reporting purposes. I purchased this car from the previous owner of 24 years. This owner repainted the car Red in 1991. Although the red paint does shine the car needs to be repainted to be nice. The exterior of the car is original with the exception of the right rear quarter panel which was replaced in 1991 when the car was painted. The front chrome bumper is in nice condition. Both front grills are in good condition. The lower front valence is good along with the original parking lights. The hood on the car is original and in good condition. Both front fenders appear original to the car. The passenger fender has a hole for the radio antennae that is missing. The fenders are in decent condition with a small spot on the bottom of the driver’s side fender. The cowl and base of the windshield are in excellent condition. All the glass in the car is in good condition. The doors appear original to the car and are in good condition. The left quarter panel is original to the car. There is one small rust spot on the quarter panel on the wheel well at about 9:00 o’clock. This spot will take a small repair. This car does NOT need any quarter panel replacement. The driver’s side outer wheel housing is in good condition. The driver’s side lower quarter panel is nice as is the original trunk drop-off. The passenger side quarter panel was replaced with a GM quarter panel in 1991 when the car was painted red. The installation of this replacement GM quarter panel is excellent. The passenger side outer wheel housing is nice along with the original lower trunk drop off. The rear tail panel is original. There is a dent in the rear tail panel that will repair with no replacement needed. The rear bumper is bent. The taillight housings are good. The original trunk-lid is excellent. The floor pans in the car are ORIGINAL to the car and in nice condition. The inner and outer rocker panels are excellent.. The rear trunk pan is original and in good condition. There are a couple of small pin holes. That’s it! All 4 convertible unique “Cocktail Shakers” are complete and in the car  Overall the sheet-metal condition on this car is very good.  NO panel replacement needed.. The original “Trim Tag” is on the firewall and reads as follows: ST69 22367 NOR 504206 BDY TR 212 65 B PNT 06A Under the hood the car has the original 350 Two Barrel engine. The engine starts and runs however needs a tune-up badly from sitting for the last 10 years. The engine is complete with the original air cleaner, original valve covers are included with the car but not installed at this time. The exhaust is complete. The original radiator is in the car along with the fan shroud and fan. The manual 4 wheel drum brakes work. The radiator support is in good condition along with the original inner fenders. The power steering is complete. All the suspension in the car appears original. The 10 bolt rear-end is complete along with the rear multi-leaf rear springs. The Power-glide transmission shifts. The interior of the car is mostly original. The dash is complete less the original radio. The speedometer is original along with the “Rally Gauges”. The factory clock is still in the car. The original radio is missing. The glove box door in nice however the cardboard liner is missing. All the heater controls are complete. The original shifter and console are in the car and complete. All the shifter linkage is complete including the linkage that attaches the shifter to the steering column lock. ALL the original seat belts are complete in the car. All four windows roll up and down. The “Deluxe” front seats are original to the car but have been recovered at some point. The rear seat has the original “Deluxe” seat cover. The “Deluxe” door panels are original and in poor condition. The carpet is in poor condition. The convertible top frame is excellent with a very nice & rust-free front header. The power top was unhooked by the previous owner so the top now works (up & down) manually. This is a very good car for your next restoration project or a great Pro-Touring platform. As is typically the case the exterior of this car LOOKS BETTER IN PICTURES THAN IN PERSON as the red paint does shine rather well.
