Vehicle Detail

THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST ORIGINAL 1969 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLES YOU WILL FIND. Sit back and relax while I have the pleasure of telling you about one of the nicest original 1969 Ford Mustang Convertibles in the classic black on red color combination that is truly spectacular and hard to find. Unfortunately for me my wife is tired of finding random ladies in bikinis posing on the hood. This red '69 is almost exactly as it came from the Dearborn Factory floor on October 22, 1968. This gem has approximately 64,000 original miles, matching numbers and is virtually all original with one repaint. As most of you know the 1969 model year is a great fusion between the original Mustang sports car introduced in 1964 and the muscle car the mustang became in the 1970's. The 1969 model year was the first to use quad headlamps placed both inside and outside the grille opening. The corralled grille pony was replaced with the pony and tribars logo, set off-center to the driver's side. Additionally the 1969 sports convex rather than concave side panels. There were approximately 14,000 Mustang Convertibles produced in 1969 making them much less common then the earlier models. Of these only 2,293 were made with this paint code. It was difficult to capture the true beauty of this car in pictures but I can tell you that I consistently get compliments on the gorgeous color and condition of this car. This particular car has been pampered since it rolled off the assembly line. It was driven 44,264 miles between 1969 and 1981. Between 1981 and today it has been driven an additional 20,000 miles and has spent most of its life always fully garaged (not car ported) and in the warm climates of Arizona and Florida. With only 64,000 original miles on it is in remarkable shape. The body on this car is in very good condition. As one would expect with a vehicle of this age, there are a few minor cosmetic abrasions. The body lines are extremely straight and the doors close nicely. This car has been enjoyed and driven primarily on weekends to local events so it does have a couple of tiny chips. These small chips have been on the car for years and have not changed in size or appearance. Additionally there is a small dent in the middle of the front bumper. Other than that the body on the car is in great shape. Mechanically, this classic muscle car also has its original 302 2V engine that runs like a top! This is one of those cars that you can reach in and turn the key to start. It idles with a nice soft rumble and growls nicely as you accelerate. The l C-4 Cruise-O-Matic transmission was rebuilt in 2005 and shifts flawlessly. The transmission fluid is clear and normal. The power steering makes driving this beauty a dream. The master cylinder was replaced in 2012. The only mechanical enhancements made are an ignition wire set with an XRI Ignition conversion kit, performance shocks and a retro themed stereo that allows for connection of an MP-3 or Ipod ( original radio is included ). The black convertible eisenglass is clear without creases and the power top works perfectly and latches tight and easily. This beauty has a black kiwi vinyl interior. The interior is in fantastic condition overall with a tiny split in the top of the dash that could easily be repaired if you chose to. All weather stripping was replaced in 2001 and the window seals replaced in 2004. The windows roll up and down nicely the glass is clear and without stone chips or abrasions. The undercarriage has very minor rust flaking, however is rock solid and was treated with OSPHO in 2007 to ensure it stays that way. Outside of paint and the limited modifications listed above, this Pony car is in vintage and original condition and without restoration modification. It has to be one of the nicest, original factory 1969 Mustang convertibles that you will have the chance to own. Not only is it gorgeous to look at but it is truly a blast to drive and you will be proud to take it to any local show or cruise in. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country it time allowed. This vehicle comes with a Deluxe Marti Auto works report that validates the door plate information. Last but not least, this car does not have any damage history. According to Hagerty this vehicle is valued between $18,000 and $28,000. I am the third proud owner of this Pony car and hope you take the time to check this beauty out. This car is not a trailer queen concourse show car but it is one of the nicest original and unmodified '69 convertibles you will have a chance to own!
