Let me start off by giving you a little background on the 280z.This was the last incarnation of the first generation S30 body style. It featured an engine displacement enlargement of 2.8 L from the 2.6L in the 260z . A major change was the introduction of Bosch fuel injection, replacing the previous SU carburetors. This resulted in a power increase to 170 hp (127 kW), offsetting increased weight from added luxury features and an enlarged bumper that met US Federal regulations. 1977 and 1978 models received bumpers with recessed channels added to the faces of the bumpers themselves, that blended into corrugated or accordion style black rubber extension trim. Also new for the 1977 model year, 280Zs no longer received the full size spare tire, and instead had a "space saver" spare and a larger fuel tank.The 1977 was the last year was of the 280z and was replaced in 1978 by the 280zx. I have owned this z for about 2 weeks. I bought this car as a surprise early graduation gift for my 6 foot 7 inch son, unfortunately he doesn't fit well into it and i need to sell this beauty. I bought it from the 2nd owner who owned it for about 10 years and bought it from the original owner as a mid life crisis vehicle. He babied and took care of this vehicle the entire time he owned it. He only put about 2k miles on it the entire time he owned it and drove it only when it was nice outside.He took off the rear window louvers off the car because he didn't like the way they looked. this 280z has been an oregon car its whole life.It has the rare optional 5 speed transmission, a/c, and sunroof. I have been unable to find any rust on this car beside the small spot of surface rust about the size of a quarter on the front bumper. This car runs and drives excellent. the paint is in great condition.this vehicle still has the original space saver spare tire and air inflator. The only thing wrong with the car is that it needs some windshield wiper motors as they are not working at the moment.
