Well I'm sure no expert on FJ-40's, but a friend of mine has owned this land cruiser for almost 27 years. It was 8 years old with 51,000 miles on it, when he purchased it in 1987.It has just 83,000 original miles on it now. This what I call a "Barn find". It has been in storage for the last 2 or 3 years. He always had planned to fix it up one day, but he never got to it. First I will list the minuses as I see them. Years ago the jeep was hit in the back end, and the rear doors are pushed in somewhat. It was running and driving just fine when last parked into storage. It will need whatever sitting idle for a couple of years would dictate (battery fluids tune up etc). I noticed that one of the wheel cylenders has been leaking some fluid. This land cruiser is 35 years old and I am selling it "as -is". If I do not sell it as-is, I will get it up and going and going again and drive it for a couple of years then give it to my grandson.It' s sure not perfect, but this would make a great driver, or better yet, a candidate for restoration perhaps. The engine turns free and someone could have it up and going again in very short order. The Pluses in my option.. is that it is a 1979, so it has the 2F engine, 4 speed transmission, and power disc brakes. This FJ is almost 100%complete, 100% original, and very un-molested. Although it has some dents and dings etc, its not rusty like most I have seen. I do have the owner manual, and I put it in the glove box. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in anyway.It is a bit of a project and bit dirty from sitting idle. I have a clear Colorado title for it. My opening bid is $ 3,500.00 with no reserve. Now... all this having been said... I can't imagine finding a more original or lower mileage FJ-40 like this one for the price. I think that whoever ends up with it will be very pleased...Just my thoughts. Terms of sale...I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company.
